CACI's Mastodon Design team in Rochester, NY is looking to hire a Test Engineer. We specialize in designing and building hardware and software to meet our customers’ next requirement. We focus on offering devices that can be fielded immediately to meet the mission needs that lie directly ahead. Size, weight, power, and packaging are of paramount importance in everything we design and build. Our expertise allows us to rapidly provide these solutions in specialized electronic/mechanical design, embedded & application-level software, reverse engineering & protocol analysis, and RF signals and communications systems. U.S. Citizenship required. 

The Opportunity:

  • Analyze product specifications, system requirements and CONOPs in the development of test evaluation plans and procedures.
  • Support the development of Test & Evaluation Master Plan and Test Readiness Assessments.
  • Perform data collection and analysis and report status and results.
  • Work alongside operations team to manufacture custom radio products in support of customer deliveries.
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying and communicating problems to root cause.
  • Collaborate across both operations and engineering teams to accomplish tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure projects have an appropriate test strategy which includes functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, load testing and stress testing.
  • Innovate continuously to increase automated test coverage and to shift testing early in the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct tests on custom designed RF and digital printed circuit boards.
  • Conduct tests on product subassemblies, end products, and multi-product systems.
  • Troubleshoot product, subassembly, and circuit board failures to component level.
  • Use a variety of test equipment and log information in a technical database.
  • Use hand tools such as long nose pliers, screw drivers, soldering irons, and wrenches.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment are within calibration and expiration dates.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with black box and automation test methods.
  • Experience in Python
  • History of maintaining consistent quality and productivity levels.
  • Regularly demonstrates a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, flexible production environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and test procedures.
  • Ability to use your hands in a skillful, coordinated way to grasp and manipulate objects and demonstrate small, precise movements.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ of related experience is required, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering theory.
  • Electronics Troubleshooting Experience.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering schematics.
  • Advanced attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$57,500-$117,900
