Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a highly talented and experienced test engineer to join our team as we design and implement a new software system using an open and flexible cloud-based architecture that will integrate with several mission applications. To be successful in this role, you should have a solid background in web application testing with an understanding of software development processes and methodologies. You will develop comprehensive manual test scripts and evaluate and document findings, working in conjunction with multiple teams to ensure delivery of a high-quality product to our customer.

What You’ll Get to Do

  • Conduct requirements analysis to detect issues as early as possible in the software development life cycle.
  • Interact with developers, the requirements manager, and the customer in order to understand the requirements of the product.
  • Create and execute manual test cases.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development team.
  • Evaluate, report and document findings of testing.
  • Provide comprehensive and concise test results.
  • Report and verify bugs as part of new features testing and regression testing.
  • Consistently contribute to improvements in terms of processes and technologies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Candidate should have a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work

REQUIRED:

  • U.S. Citizen with active SECRET clearance.
  • Ability to write clear and effective test documentation.
  • Working knowledge of test techniques and compatibility with various software programs.
  • Experience with testing RESTful services.
  • Ability to identify, reproduce, and troubleshoot software defects.
  • Experience with JIRA or similar issue tracking software tool.
  • Ability and experience to interact with the Users, Customers, Business Analysts and Scrum Masters, and provide guidance on testing methods to meet project specific needs.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology, processes, and techniques. Experience working on Agile teams in a similar role.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to express yourself in technical discussions.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.

DESIRED:

  • Experience participating in a high performing, highly engaged and motivated team, with a mix of local and remote locations.
  • Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle.
  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a very strong work ethic; self-starter.
  • Successful candidate will be imaginative and responsive with excellent critical thinking skills and be able to communicate well with users.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools like Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG a plus.
  • TS/SCI with CI Polygraph a plus.
  • Advanced degree in an applicable field.
