Our chipsets power a variety of products; tablets, smartphones, e-readers and other devices. Depending on your technical area, you will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert and go-to person for other members of your team. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interaction daily so good communication, planning and execution skills are a must.
The individual in this role will be supporting team to meet internal and external vendors to build platforms on different commercial devices and measure power. Job requires flexible schedule including weekend support.
Qualifications
Should be self-sufficient with minimal guidance with the following tasks:
- High school completed and minimum 5 years of experience as an electronics technician to modify and repair cellular phones and laptops is a must. Associate degree of electronics field is a plus. College degree in the relevant electronics field is not a must but highly desirable.
- Has ability to solder wires upto 50 gauges and 0201 components on PCB, Solder and de-solder BGA components with or without stencil.
- Must be a team player and can handle difficult scenario with vendors.
- Setup and debug issues with cellular phones and PCs hardware development platforms including development boards, form-factor devices, connectivity and power supply equipment, and thermal units/chambers.
- Debugging hardware and software failures.
- Running tests with necessary applications on Android/iOS/Windows devices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Written and spoken in English.
- Can travel domestic and international.
Responsibilities
- Set up test platforms and PC connections.
- Reconfigure HW of setup as per need, and triage user reported issues with setup.
- Work with Program Managers to get list of equipment to order & follow up on orders/ETAs.
- Serve as POC for a project to participate in planning and bring-up & post-bring-up activities.
- Manage inventory of parts and tools. Work with engineers to assess existing inventory and place and follow up on new orders.
- Support lab service requests from engineer teams.
- Troubleshoot faulty electrical and mechanical systems pertaining to handlers and their inputs.
- Support IT & lab maintenance activities.
- Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and organization.
Physical Requirements
• Frequently transports and installs equipment weighing at least 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.• 3+ years of testing, measurement, or related work experience.
