Job Description:

As a Training Manager and Facilitator, you will manage, oversee, and develop training materials for delivering hands-on classroom and virtual training for the Military Sealift Command Integrated Business Systems. Bring your training experience, collaboration skills, initiative, and energy to support our customer in the Chesapeake/Norfolk area.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Collaborate with team members and Subject Matter Experts to strategize, develop, and refine audience-appropriate curriculum, courses, and lessons.
  • Estimate, schedule, and plan CBTs and ILTs, and develop or update training/student guides.
  • Manage the training curriculum and user manuals ensuring accuracy to comply with new requirements and releases to production.
  • Managing a team of 5 or more that includes CBT developers, training developers and Instructors
  • Define and monitor training related metrics and reports.
  • Implementing the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluate (ADDIE) Model 
  • Participate in and/or conduct instructor-led training in both in-person and virtual environments.
  • Oversee and support the Navy Electronic Learning tool or other learning management tools
  • Ensure learning objectives are appropriate for the audience and that the training materials meet these objectives.
  • Prepare high level course outlines, schedules, and syllabus.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and training materials for instructor-led training, interactive multimedia instruction, blended materials, and courseware, utilizing current technologies.
  • Collect and document measurements and reports on training delivery and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Adhere to established training material templates, document management guidelines, and delivery methods. Materials include student guides, presentations, business process flows, work instructions, exercises, simulations, quick references, job aids, post-tests, and instructor guides.
  • Bring innovative ideas to drive continuous improvement in our training program.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree (in Training/Development or related field) or equivalent
  • 5-8 years’ experience in curriculum development and delivery of instruction to small and large audiences.
  • Apply knowledge of adult learning principles and concepts and instructional design theory in training curriculum for instructor led as well as online delivery methods.
  • Proficient in online collaboration and meeting solutions.
  • Background in Military Job Training and Training curriculum along the line of Computer and Business systems and processes.
  • Ability to conduct training the Chesapeake/Norfolk, Virginia area as well as aboard.

     

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with the Department of Defense/US Navy.
  • Experience in all phases of the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation)
  • Professional Facilitation Training and/or Certificate
