About this Role

The Superintendent will oversee and manage daily operations of transmission construction and maintenance projects. The role ensures that all work is performed in compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards, while managing project timelines and budgets. The Superintendent will supervise field crews, coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers, and be a key figure in resolving site challenges and ensuring successful project delivery.

This position requires extensive travel and extended work schedules to various job sites and involves significant physical demands, including loading and unloading heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions.** This position is based in West & Central Texas **

What You'll Do

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair of transmission lines and related infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, enforcing safety protocols to protect personnel and public safety.
  • Manage multiple field crews, providing leadership, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure project milestones, deadlines, and budgets are met.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings to provide clear instructions to teams.
  • Ensure work is completed according to technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address project progress and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including work logs, schedules, and safety reports.
  • Handle material orders, equipment deliveries, and resource allocation for efficient project execution.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental and local regulations.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, safety, and quality control measures.

What You'll Bring

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 7+ years of experience in transmission construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Extensive knowledge of T&D systems, equipment, and installation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards (OSHA, NESC, etc.).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple teams, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable on transmission construction specialty equipment.
  • Must have the ability to attract and retain qualified transmission resources.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Physical Requirements:

  • Work from heights.
  • Able to lift 60 lbs unassisted.
  • Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to work 60+ hours per week

  • Possess critical thinking skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate with others.
  • Ability to communicate in writing.
