Custom Solutions Deal Lifecycle Management (DLM) is a global sales and delivery program for complex large deals that require custom solutions. It entails a consistent and mandatory governance process in stages, requiring increasing levels of evaluation as the complexity of the deal increases. The process is based on defined approvers, review templates, systems and tools, that are applied by cross-functional review teams.  This process involves working with any deal > $1M and typically complex in scope of products / implementation / customization / 3rd parties / etc. Current total global VBG pipeline being managed exceeds $3B in TCV revenue.

The DLM Manager is responsible for ensuring all deliverables are met through the stages and meet all deadlines within the timeline. This is important when tying together budgets, forecasts and the results our organization needs to attain in order to achieve our financial targets. This work is directly tied to forecasting and revenue time phasing that is performed to ensure the business is on track and helps custom solutions succeed by meeting and exceeding customer outcomes.

This role requires affinity both with VBG Enterprise and Public Sector. This role is responsible for determining when a deal can qualify for DLM and progress to the next stage, thus bringing it closer to finalizing the deal and the company collecting revenue.  It is this person’s responsibility to ensure deals move through the stages timely and hold others accountable for action items that will contribute to the deal progressing.  Often, this individual will have to hold peers and/or sales leaders accountable for work by either making recommendations or escalating any outstanding items.

We work directly with the wider Custom Solutions and Technology Solutions Team that support the DLM process for all segments in all countries/ regions globally. The person in this position would need to be able to lead both the Management Review Board (MRB) and Regional Review Board (RRB) for opportunities below $25M in all segments. The work that takes place weekly around DLM is work across multiple teams and work groups all around the globe.  

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Global Deal Lifecycle Management (DLM) governance process within VBG which includes:

  • Leading or supporting the identification and implementation of additional process changes as necessary within your region and segment(s) working in partnership with all leadership, other DLM Managers, - Approvers and Stakeholder Managers as relevant. 

  • Driving additional efficiencies while maintaining compliance with any Custom Solutions priorities, the Complex Bids process and exit criteria out of each DLM stage which includes:

  • Develop and manage a strong complex deal identification/ qualification- and triage process that qualifies/ screens new custom opportunities for the ability to win profitably and support with the most efficient assignment of bid and implementation resources.

  • Perform continuous analysis on the factors that impact the success or failure of complex bids to Verizon's largest customers (such as through After Action Reviews).

  • As the key focus of this position is leading the Deal Lifecycle Management (DLM) governance process for all Verizon US Segments, the individual must operate with substantial autonomy and minimal guidance.

What we’re looking for:

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience ideally across multiple business functions.

  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

  • Leadership and facilitation skills are required due to the frequent interaction with executive levels of management in the various stakeholder organizations 

  • Ability to lead changes to operations processes.

  • Ability to manage virtual teams working across global time zones. 

  • Thorough understanding of Verizon internal development processes from Sales through Engineering/ Design, Finance/ Pricing, Consulting Services, Operations to Service Delivery, Repair and Billing. 

  • Ability to operate in a highly dynamic, high pressure environment but maintain control, stay calm and remain organized and analytical in a political climate of diverse perspectives.  

  • Thorough understanding of business cases, financial reporting processes, P&L Levers and knowledge of market needs and VES/ third party vendor capabilities.  

  • Extensive knowledge of SFDC, google suite and working knowledge of the many parallel work process flows is required (Solution Workbook, Engagement Script, eIAR, business case modeling).

  • Master’s degree

  • ITIL Certification

  • 7 plus years of operations experience.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to multi-task and flex with changing business needs.

  • Ability to conduct meetings, evaluate issues, provide solutions, and drive aggressive timelines.

  • Effective verbal & written communication and report presentation skills to MP and executives.

  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills.

  • Exceptional logic, quantitative and analytical skills.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
