Job Description

When you join Verizon

At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. What you’ll be doing...

As an experienced UX Designer, you will use your expertise in design for complex design programs of products. Additionally, you will be involved with the onboarding, recruiting and mentoring of more junior designers.

  • Participating in identifying appropriate design problems and opportunities within a brief.

  • Working independently with some guidance to solve larger, more open-ended problems.

  • Generating multiple credible design solutions with guidance while participating in divergent and convergent group work.

  • Exhibiting mastery of shared tools and software for design.

  • Exploring, refining, and documenting design solutions while adhering to design system guidelines.

  • Participating in user insight gathering activities.

  • Participating in analysis of observations to develop insights.

  • Creating communications to share user insights.

  • Creating design solutions that leverage user insights.

  • Actively participating and contributing to group dialogue and activities.

  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback.

  • Communicating current project plan, goals, and expected outcomes.

  • Getting to know partners in product, technical, and business.

What we’re looking for...

You have a great eye for design but also know that it’s not just about looks. Your designs are grounded in what the user wants and needs. What you build is new but somehow reflects exactly how people prefer to navigate. You understand and balance both the user and the business perspective. Understanding and meeting the needs of partners is your greatest strength, while also maintaining your own vision and point of view. You believe that different perspectives create the best solutions and new groundbreaking designs.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.

  • Relevant work experience.

  • Experience in end-to-end system design, including e-commerce, portal, etc.

  • Knowledge of high fidelity prototyping and testing experiences.

  • Experience with user centric design overall.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design.

  • Portfolio of largely professional work.

  • Contributed to one or more design programs or shipped products.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
