About this Role

Welding and mechanical support of in-house fabrication shop supporting drilling operations in Geotechnical Exploration and Foundation Construction.

Hourly: $25.00 - $28.00 DOE

What You'll Do

  • Work as both a fabricator and welder in a mechanical / hydraulic heavy equipment shop setting.
  • Perform MIG welding of mild steel and alloys.
  • Perform TIG and MIG aluminum welding Inspects equipment components to ensure that components are in safe working condition.
  • Understand various weld form symbols on blue prints and understand size of fillet forms
  • Good understanding of set up techniques
  • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner
  • Appropriately uses various metal working equipment such as lathe, mill, drill press, surface grinder, etc.
  • Performs routine service, maintenance and repair to equipment
  • Performs other shop duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Repair and maintain field equipment

What You'll Bring

  • Read dial calipers and indicators.
  • Must be able to pass weld test as required. 
  • Required minimum of 1 year fabrication experience in a professional shop setting
  • Must be proficient in GMAW and FCAW of mild steel, TIG/MIG of aluminum preferred
  • Must be able to consistently produce quality welds that are structural and aesthetically pleasing
  • Required basic mechanical background, hydraulic skills a plus
  • Required to provide own hand tools and toolbox (bottom cabinet type minimum).  Required tools include sockets/wrenches from 1/4; to 1-1/8, full screwdriver set, pliers etc.   (typical professional mechanic tool set)
  • Required to provide own welding hood and steel toed boots. 
  • Experience with blue prints.
  • Ability to follow Crux outlined procedures and learn new processes. 

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $25.00/Hr. - USD $28.00/Hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
