About this Role

R.R. Cassidy, a Quanta Services company, is searching for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Prairieville, LA (Baton Rouge area).

The Accounts Payable Specialist will report directly to the Division Controller. The ideal candidate will have experience managing purchase orders (PO), accruals, state-specific invoice taxing, and overhead expenditures.

What You'll Do

• Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Manage purchase orders (PO) and ensure accurate matching with invoices.
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
• Handle accruals and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Apply state-specific tax regulations to invoices.
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
• Generate reports detailing accounts payables status.
• Assist with month-end closing and overhead expenditure analysis.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with 1 year of experience OR a minimum of 4 years of proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist with a High School Diploma/GED.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Experience with purchase orders (PO) and accruals.
• Knowledge of state-specific invoice taxing.
• Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
