We work closely with high-net-worth individuals, families and select foundations and endowments to develop wealth and investment management strategies. We then identify investment opportunities to help them reach their objectives. We complement these services with robust execution capabilities and attentive client service.

If you are looking for an exciting opportunity in Technology as a hands-on lead/manager, working on the latest technologies and solve complex problems in the world of finance at one the leading investment banks in the world , we have one for you in Private Wealth Management (PWM) technology at Goldman Sachs.

The Data Distribution team supports PWM's Quantum platform which is considered the primary source of data relating to Client Holdings, Transactions, Taxlots and reference data like Accounts, Products and Prices in PWM. Several teams/projects requires this data and our team has built several distribution channels  for different usage patterns.

We are currently enhancing our platform based on new business requirements as well as increases stability and scalability needs to support a growing business. The platform will be required to manage very high volumes of requests with varying time sensitivities and prioritising across multiple tenants via an event based framework. We are looking for an experienced hire to lead some of these initiatives. The role would require you to have a solid understanding of JAVA applications, RESTful APIs, Kafka , Spring Boot applications, and Big Data systems and you be responsible for working on all phases of the development cycle from design to final production roll-out and post production support where applicable.

Our team of engineers build solutions to the most complex problems and has the opportunity to work with our team of wealth advisors & operations as stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the various stakeholders, including architects and business sponsors to develop innovative solutions for the PWM Data Distribution platform.

How will you fulfil your potential

• Contribute to engineering leadership in architecting the platform components
• Produce scalable designs
• Involved in identification of technical frameworks & build vs buy analysis
• Act as hands on developer to build and ship new features
• Guide and mentor junior team members
• Influence the evolution of the platform architecture

Basic Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in Java & J2EE frameworks.
• Experience with producing scalable software designs.
• Experience in Spring, REST services, JMS, Hibernate/JPA, JSON is required.
• Experience working with SQL based database like Sybase or MemSQL.
• Experience  with Hadoop/Big data/Apache Spark
• Experience in writing automated tests is required.
• Experience with designing/delivering messaging-based solutions (e.g. Kafka)
• Strong sense of ownership, focus on quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and innovation
• Experience in working with CI/CD, GIT, Jira methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience  with Hadoop/Big data/Apache Spark
• Experience in Financial Services/Industry

• Ability to multi-task and work against deadlines/priorities.
• Sense of ownership and desire to take on an expanded role over time.
