Global Sourcing, Supply Chain & Sustainability is looking for an Associate Director of Business Intelligence to lead from the centralized Business Operations team, this team is the spoke to the central D&A hub in VGS. In this position, you will have an opportunity to leverage your technical/analytics skills along with business expertise to lead innovative BI designs and solutions to solve business problems and automate manual work in the GSSCS organization. This is a high impact, highly visible, multi-business, cross-functional position within the Verizon Global Services organization. 

The role will require extensive partnering with the Consumer & Business Supply Chain, Global Logistics, Network Supply Chain, Global Sourcing, Sustainability, and Business Systems and Intelligence Teams. In addition, you will interface with the D&A Hub, IT, Warehousing & Transportation teams, 3PLs,  Retail Operations, Finance, and Accounting. The position is a strategic role and a catalyst for driving continuous improvement while leading innovation across the organization. Responsibilities include architecting analytics strategies and solutions, delivering insight-driven analytics, enhancing decision-making processes for business teams, leading cross-functional collaborations that drive financial results, and KPI oversight/management. You will own the analytics strategy and execution for the organization, including intake, project management, solution development, IT partnership, and executive communication. 

  • Developing the strategic analytics roadmap for the organization, balancing analytics with sufficient business acumen to translate complex business processes into meaningful data products and automation.

  • Driving end-to-end solutions and coordinating activities to ensure timely completions of initiatives.

  • Applying advanced analytics techniques to understand and optimize organizational business processes and achieve financial targets.

  • Partnering with D&A Hub, IT, and key Business owners to lead and deliver 1Corp Data and 1Verizon Data initiatives. 

  • Interpreting data/business trends; translating them into findings and presenting the findings in concise, easily digestible data-driven insights to business sponsors and senior executives.

  • Demonstrating critical thinking skills and remaining curious to evolve knowledge of the business, industry, and competitive trends, and technology to put results and insights in a proper context.

  • Building strong collaborations with our business partners to prioritize and align on work efforts and deliverables. 

  • Sponsoring and advocating the adoption of digital and visualization tools to optimize how we work and to drive self-serve (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx, etc.) that are aligned to VZ standards and GTS roadmap.

  • Communicating with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner; developing executive-level presentations and other key communications for the team. 

  • Mentoring and leading team members on analysis, visualization, and presentation skills.

What We’re Looking For…

You’ll need to have:

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience investigating and solving complex problems.

  • Visualization/storyboarding experience to present insights and recommendations in concise, intuitive, narratives.

  • Experience in Microsoft and Google Suites of products, e.g. PowerPoint, Slides, Excel, Sheets, etc.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Knowledge of DW data domains and able to extract data using queries (e.g., Teradata SQL).

  • Proficiency in building executive-level presentations in PowerPoint and Google Slides; experience developing and delivering key communications to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.  

  • Knowledge of Verizon processes relating to Sourcing and Supply Chain.

  • Business Intelligence Certification (CPBI)

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills with the ability to influence and set expectations across various functional teams; and across all levels within the organization.

  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple complex projects against key deliverables and timelines.

  • Familiarity with data visualization software, such as QLIK, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Looker, and Alteryx.

  • Strategic thinker who is comfortable working both independently and in a team setting.

  • Experience of balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
