The Data Governance Services Team aims to drive quantifiable business value underpinned by high-quality data products and capabilities through a strong commitment to and partnership with the Business Units. This role will involve partnering with key stakeholders across the company to deliver on the promise and opportunity of PayPal's vast data asset. You will be responsible for working with various business product and engineering teams to establish standards and operating rhythm for teams to deliver on the most impactful programs and initiatives for the organization. We are looking for an individual contributor who can drive data standardization and consistency across the organization.

The Business Data Products & Solutions Team aims to drive quantifiable business value underpinned by high-quality data products and capabilities through a strong commitment to and partnership with the Business Units. This role will involve partnering with key stakeholders across the Consumer and Marketing business to deliver on the promise and opportunity of PayPal's vast data asset. You will be responsible for working with various business leaders and the solutions teams to establish standards and operating rhythm for teams to deliver on the most impactful programs and initiatives for the organization. We are looking for an individual contributor who can drive standardization and consistency across the organization.




Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate planning and delivery of data quality and governance projects across various technology, vendor and Infrastructure teams 

  • Support release planning activities resulting in the creation of project or program roadmaps. 

  • Ensure measurable KPIs are developed for projects, and that they align to the overall KPIs for the Data Governance Services organization

  • Analyze, query, and profile data to define business rules in support of business process/domain objectives

  • Lead project execution and represent features for enterprise-wide data quality dashboards & reporting services

  • Conduct gap analyses to identify and address inconsistencies or deficiencies in current data systems.

  • Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions

  • Ability to size, estimate & communicate business impact of data quality issues

  • Create documentation and artifacts for data quality rules engine, alerting and monitoring

  • Perform statistical tests on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity patterns

  • Support teams in their development of process improvements to enhance overall data quality

  • Identify areas of improvement to achieve data quality

  • Create data quality insights and proactively communicate meaningful insights with stakeholders to enable their business goals and objectives

  • Develop, validate and implement business rules on platforms like Big Query, Hive etc.

Skills:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, plus a minimum of five years of IT experience, or in lieu of a degree, at least seven years of direct, diverse experience in technology and process excellence.

  • At least two years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Quality, preferably within banking, financial services, or a regulated industry.

​Proven experience and/or current skills in:

  • JAVA, Python, SparkSQL expertise.

  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Technologies, especially GCP, AWS.

  • Building or utilizing Data Quality Solutions like Informatica DQ, Collibra DQ.

  • Strong analytical abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Data analysis, data profiling, and the definition and automation of quality rules.

  • At least two years of experience with data quality tools such as Informatica, SAP, SAS.

  • SQL Programming, including performance tuning or DBA experience with SQL Server.

  • Client-facing roles requiring excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills, capable of discussing technical issues in business-friendly language.

  • Robust data analysis capabilities across various source systems and formats.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$72700 to $176000
