Global Compliance

Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. Your Impact

Are you passionate about the customer experience? We’re looking for an Associate to join our consumer banking compliance team covering consumer products. You will focus on review and supporting the business to ensure flawless execution and mitigation of consumer compliance risks.  You will specifically provide Compliance support for the risk and controls related to the servicing of consumer products.

Our consumer banking compliance team partners with all functional areas of the consumer business to advise on business strategy, implement compliance processes, systems, and digital tools for identifying, measuring, and mitigating risk and report on the status of such risk.  You will be involved in managing the growth of this business for the Firm.

How will you fulfill your potential

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. consumer financial laws and regulations applicable to consumer products issued in the United States
  • Support objectives related to oversight, risk assessments, regulatory change management, policies and procedures, and training
  • Evaluate consumer product servicing change initiatives to ensure compliance risks are identified and properly mitigated
  • Partner with consumer product servicing teams to ensure testing associated with technology and procedural change management properly considers and mitigates compliance risks 
  • Identify compliance risks associated with business processes and practices, including through review of customer complaints and drive escalation and resolution 
  • Provide challenge to the design, implementation, and management of corrective actions
  • Drive control and monitoring activities to ensure timely detection of compliance issues and risks
  • Operate independently and think through solutions

Basic Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of compliance, operations, or legal experience in financial services
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent military experience
  • Experience in compliance risks and controls
  • Subject matter expertise and practical experience in mitigating risk associated with credit card servicing 
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state consumer lending laws and regulations as well as industry association standards, including, among others, Truth in Lending Act (Reg Z), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA/Regulation V), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), and Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP)
  • Must be self-directed, organized, positive, driven, detail-oriented, and effective in a fast-paced, changing environment 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Risk management experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, or related field
  • Operational knowledge of consumer banking industry and products, preferably in credit cards
  • Strong understanding of digital and retail focused businesses
  • Strong relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships and build partnerships across the business and key functional support areas like Internal Audit, Legal, Technology, and Risk
