You’ll spend your days working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and performing in-depth and complex engineering and analysis involving all aspects of the networks including core, distribution edge, border, Layer 3/2 routing and switching.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and analyze network solutions and provide expertise to identify vulnerabilities in solutions.
  • Keep up with the latest networking technologies and best practices.
  • Apply your deep understanding of adversary networks, network defenses, and cyber network operational capabilities to develop exploitation plans and make operational adjustments as plans are executed.
  • Apply your innate curiosity and analytical talent to form hypotheses, critically assess and choose analysis techniques, then query, merge, enrich, evaluate, and pivot within data to attain and share insights.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Flexible, decisive & proactive problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Internal and external customer interface experience.
  • Experience with planning, designing, and executing network security analysis and development.
  • Hands-on experience with networking hardware, such as routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers and VPN concentrators.
  • The ability to do complex analysis on networks and systems for weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with network automation and monitoring systems, such as Ansible, Python, rGPC and Riverbed.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System and/or U*NIX.
  • Perform in-depth and complex engineering and analysis involving all aspects of the networks including core, distribution edge, border, Layer 3/2 routing and switching.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and analyze network solutions and provide expertise to identify vulnerabilities in solutions.
  • Keep up with the latest networking technologies and best practices.
  • Apply your deep understanding of adversary networks, network defenses, and cyber network operational capabilities to develop exploitation plans and make operational adjustments as plans are executed.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Advanced proficiency using open-source tools such Metasploit, BurpSuite, nmap, Nagios, and Wireshark.
  • Excellent written communications skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Requisite years’ experience as a Computer Network Engineer or similar role (see Education for requirements)

     

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced GIAC and/or (ISC)2 network/cyber security specialties
  • Familiar with 802.11, Bluetooth and LTE protocols and technologies
  • Experience with wired telephony technology (hardware or core software)
  • Familiar with mobile telephony technology (hardware or core software)
  • Experience with ubiquitous core network device (switch/router/hub) technology (hardware or core software)

Education: Degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (e.g., General Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Assurance, or Computer Security). Note that 18 semester hours of military training/coursework in networking, computer science, or cyber topics is equivalent to an associate’s degree.

Relevant experience must be in computer or information systems design/development/analysis.  In addition, it may also include engineering hardware and/or software, programming, computer/network security, Computer/networking engineering and/or analysis, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, computer forensics, information assurance, systems engineering, and/or network and systems administration. 

Level 3

4 years’ applicable experience with a PhD, OR

6 years’ applicable experience with a master’s degree, OR

8 years’ applicable experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR

10 years’ applicable experience with an associate degree

Level 4

7 years’ applicable experience with a PhD, OR

9 years’ applicable experience with a master’s degree, OR

11 years’ applicable experience with a bachelor’s degree, OR

13 years’ applicable experience with an associate degree

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$94,400 - $198,300
