Job Description

Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm’s business. Controllers also ensure that the firm’s activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.   We are seeking an Associate to join the Asset & Wealth Management Corporate Controllers team supporting the Expense Analysis Group (EAG). The EAG team supports the Private Wealth Management business including implementing and controlling the policies and procedures affecting over 500 wealth advisors globally.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Develop a broad understanding of the Global Private Wealth Management (PWM) business and the related monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements of this growing and dynamic business.
  • Work closely with PWM Management, Operations and Technology to provide tactical and strategic business solutions using Anaplan.
  • Develop and maintain a strong teamwork approach.
  • Monthly balance sheet substantiation and quarterly Sox assessments.
  • Business analysis for compliance, legal and PWM management.
  • Calculate variable expenses, G/L entries including commissions, equity amortizations and bonus accruals.
  • Weekly, Monthly and Annual variable expense projections.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years work experience.
  • Strong accounting and/or finance background. CPA preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and detailed/deadline oriented
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Researcher / problem solver / critical thinker
  • PC skills, specifically MS Office (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Must be flexible, inquisitive and enthusiastic

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
