CONTROLLERS

Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets.

BUSINESS UNIT

Controllers Risk Governance Office (CRGO) is responsible for the overall risk management of the Controllers division, including all aspects of operational and financial reporting risk.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Monitor the division's risk posture, providing management with transparency utilizing management reporting / dashboards
  • Assist in the development, monitoring, and treatment of key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) that are mapped to various risks and controls for technology or third-party vendors
  • Work with central Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) team and divisional vendor risk officers to lead divisional TPRM program initiatives and priorities
  • Interact with Controllers Engineering to understand and communicate risks related to critical infrastructure and systems, defining potential impact and tracking commitments to apply effective mitigating controls
  • Contribute to the review and analysis of technology or third-party risk issues and production of related presentations for senior leadership
  • Communicate the impact of technology or third-party risks and the approach to mitigation, and provide risk assessment and advisory services to Engineering or Vendor Risk Officers 
  • Engage with Controllers stakeholders to manage and resolve technology risk or third-party risks issues timely, problem-solving and appropriate escalation when encountering roadblocks
  • Partner with other firm risk and control disciplines (e.g., Internal Audit, Operational Risk) to support the firm's overall control objectives

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must be multi-disciplined, with experience/knowledge of key aspects of finance and accounting commensurate with a global banking institution
  • Prior experience with technology or third-party risk management is required
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of third-party vendor management and governance
  • Ability to identify and assess complex IT risks and controls to relate them to the wider business environment and to express opinions clearly to all levels
  • Good knowledge of different operating systems, databases, networking, security concepts and technologies from an IT risk and controls perspective
  • Experience in managing a governance roadmap, identifying KRIs, defining KPIs, and leading control remediation is preferred
  • Experience interfacing with and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Individual must be comfortable navigating large data sets and distilling information into an executive level presentation
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and possess strong analytical and intellectual abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates ability to establish strong working relationships with cross functional stakeholders
  • Experience in delivering high quality work products, reflecting attention to detail and analytical and problem-solving prowess
  • 3+ years experience in technology risk or third party risk roles aimed at independently assessing weaknesses and gaps

Salary Range 

The expected base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
