Network SRE Resolution is responsible for - Maintaining and supporting the Goldman Sachs global network infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting, resolving incidents, providing RCA and recommendation to clients
- Engage and work with multiple carriers and hardware vendors.
- Execute break fix changes to remediate hardware failure to normalize the environment
- Complete ownership of remediation/Mitigation of Sev1, Sev2 and Critical Sev3 incidents and client escalations.
Job Description Production Support
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, including hardware failures, configuration errors, and connectivity problems.
- Monitor the health and performance of the global network infrastructure.
- Engage with carriers and vendors to troubleshoot issues and escalate complex situations.
- Implement break-fix solutions to minimize downtime and impact to the environment.
- Manage the product lifecycle of the network infrastructure, ensuring both internal and external connectivity.
- Own resolution of Sev1, Sev2, and critical Sev3 incidents, as well as client escalations.
- Cultivate deep understanding of core network principles to maintain a stable and secure global network.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of network equipment like routers, switches, firewalls, proxies, VPNs, load balancers, IPS/IDS systems.
- Apply expertise to quickly resolve issues in sensitive environments like trading floors, core networks, DMZs, B2B networks, and client/vendor zones.
- Lead technical escalations and contribute to team skill development in critical areas like DDoS protection and Tier 1 application flow.
- Participate in network automation initiatives and contribute to efficiency improvements.
- Familiarity with Python or Java programming and Git workflows.
Collaboration and Communication
- Partner with other engineering teams on technical discussions, product development lifecycle activities, and device certification processes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior team members on new technologies and processes.
- Clearly document root cause analyses and post-mortems for senior management review.
- Upkeep of accurate network diagrams, inventory, and other documentation.
- Utilize a broad range of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, network management tools, Pcap Analysis, Fidler
Basic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Networking, or a related field.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in network engineering.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues using like Wireshark, Fidler, Splunk etc.
- In-depth understanding of core network principles, routing protocols, and network security concepts.
- Experience managing network equipment from leading vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Broadcom, Citrix, Palo Alto, and Zscaler (or similar).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest networking technologies.
- This job requires individual to work on one or both weekends (Saturday & Sunday) as part of the shift assignment.
- Experience working in ITIL framework.
Additional Qualification
- Experience working in the finance industry and an enterprise network.
- Experience automating Network functions is a plus.
