At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. The Data & Analytics (D&A) group is a cross-functional, center of excellence at Verizon. As part of the team, you will be helping to create and deliver a comprehensive measurement and reporting approach, interacting with teams working throughout Verizon.

In this role, you will work independently and partner with others across Finance, Analytics and Engineering to develop strategies and design solutions as a bridge between data engineering and how data will be used by the Finance client community. This includes data-driven analysis, understanding what’s going on with the business, to produce curated data products and analytics that enhance the financial decision-making process and reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of curated data products from fact tables.
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and preserving the data integrity of these sources.
  • Analyzing complex data sets, drawing conclusions and relationships and developing actionable recommendations.
  • Working with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities garnered from the data analysis.
  • Summarizing, grouping, and visualizing data sets and information for management.
  • Collaborating in cross-functional teams to source new data, develop schema requirements, and maintain metadata.

What We’re Looking For…

You are good with numbers and love to dig into data to find the story. You’re able to translate numbers into compelling stories and tailor your presentation and recommendations to the audience’s function and level to meet their needs. You are detail-oriented and know how to be passionate about what really matters. You have a knack for understanding and visualizing just the right way to share data and practical insights so that people can understand. You enjoy aligning various work streams to ensure the same vision and goal is achieved.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to write Complex SQL queries and scripts using relational databases like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, or Google Cloud, and pulling data from SQL/EDW data warehouses.
  • Experience supporting Analytics for Finance teams.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Familiarity with broadband products and services (FWA, FIOS, HSI)
  • Experience developing general reporting, KPIs, metrics, and attributes.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and research capabilities.
  • Experience managing time-bound project deliverables for multiple stakeholders.
  • Scripting or analytical programming experience (e.g., Python, R, SAS).
  • Familiarity with Anaplan for forecasting
  • Data visualization skills and hands-on experience using ThoughtSpot, Looker, Tableau and/or Qlik with SQL skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
