Software Engineer - SecDB & AWS - Trade Booking – GS ETF Accelerator – Associate

Goldman Sachs ETF Accelerator is a new digital platform that enables our institutional clients to quickly and efficiently, launch, list, and manage their ETFs. The Role

This role involves integrating our AWS/Java platform with Slang/SecDB and Bloomberg, it’s expected the work will be balanced between the two platforms alongside Java on-prem services

• Help drive a new Straight Through Processing flow interfacing directly with Bloomberg
• Liaise with our global engineering and Portfolio Implementation teams to build workflows that quickly and robustly pipe FIX trade messages from Bloomberg into SecDB to book trades 
• Develop diverse product knowledge across asset classes and geographies
• Opportunity to diversify and expand technical and product knowledge 
• Work as part of a team to hit delivery milestones and navigate blocker issues
• Apply agile methodologies in a sprint-based development team
• Engage with support teams to troubleshoot and solve production issue faced by users

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• 2+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of SecDB & Slang experience
• 1+ years of Java experience
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable multi-tasking and working as part of a global team
• Comfortable working with business, engineering, and control-side teams across the firm and externally 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with SecDB trade capture and related flows
• Experience working directly with business users
• Experience designing and writing REST APIs
• High-level understanding of financial instruments
