The Finance Organization
At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. As part of the GSSCS FP&A team, you will partner with the Operations Team to drive strategic business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. The GSSCS team manages inventory, forward and reverse logistics as well as end to end device and equipment lifecycle. They are integral to the success of Verizon and, as their finance business partners, so are you. Your contributions will make a difference and your expertise will be sought after .Your responsibilities will include: You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, forecasting, reporting, initiative tracking, research, and operational analysis.
Owning the development and communication of the plan and forecasting, operational analysis, and executive reviews for Actuals, Business Plan, Commitment View, and Best View for Verizon GSSCS.
Evaluating business trends and results and serving as a functional specialist to our GSSCS business partners to provide strategic financial and operational guidance and insights during the analysis process along with recurring performance reports and ad-hoc analysis.
Being a trusted advisor providing value-added decision support and guidance on optimizing our cost structure, maximizing opportunities and improving efficiency of our logistics operations.
Creating financial models to do scenario planning and analyzing the impact of market disruptions or changes in strategy.
Working closely with cross functional teams in the business units, supply chain operations and accounting to align financial goals with operational strategies.
Partnering with Financial Planning and Analytics Services to establish service level agreements and drive continuous effective and efficient improvements.
Advising on risk and opportunity considerations for managing cost and profitability as well as cost and effect patterns in the business not captured in existing reporting.
Providing decision support and guidance; leading ad-hoc presentation development and executive review.
Presenting and communicating to all levels of the business.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience in supporting Supply Chain and knowledge of Supply Chain operations.
Experience managing complex processes and working cross functionally.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry as well as supply chain finance
A high degree of analytical capability with the proven ability to structure financial modeling and forecast around a high-level strategic vision.
Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
An advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes.
Demonstrated in depth understanding of supply chain business and processes, cost drivers, ability to interpret complex data and deep-dive analysis.
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.
Proficiency in Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
Experience leading large and complex team projects with minimal direct supervision.
