The Leveraged Finance Group within the Investment Banking Division in New York is looking for an experienced associate with current Leveraged Finance banking (or related) experience to join the team.

Our Leveraged Finance group originates structures, advises and executes bank loan and high yield bond financings for corporate clients and financial sponsors, including LBOs, refinancing, M&A transactions and restructurings. Leverage Finance teams serve as intermediaries between the debt capital markets (including sales, trading, research, and buy side investors) and our issuing clients.  Given underwriting requirements for many of the transactions, the group works closely with multiple areas of the firm including Classic Investment Banking, Credit, Capital Markets and Research. Leveraged Finance associates develop strong fundamental credit, modeling and risk management skills. 

Investment Banking associates at Goldman Sachs are a vital part of the banking team. Through their extensive exposure to the firm’s businesses and clients they develop an expansive knowledge of investment banking products and practices. The associates take an active role in developing, structuring and executing a broad range of advisory assignments and financial transactions for our clients. 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree in a financial discipline and 1 year of experience; OR
  • Bachelors degree PLUS minimum 3 years’ experience in an investment banking analyst position or comparable financial role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical orientation, with experience performing financial and valuation analysis in Excel or comparable spread sheet tools
  • Demonstrated interested in finance, companies, transactions and financial markets

Salary Range 

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
