Global Banking & Markets (GBM) is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading capabilities to clients around the world. The Control Office within GBM is responsible for first line of defense independent key control assessment to ensure business, operational and engineering execution is performed in a demonstrable, measurable and sustainable way vs divisional standards. For every trade agreed, every new product launched or market entered, every transaction completed, the Control Office ensures that key controls mitigate associated risks to enable secure and seamless business flow.

YOUR IMPACT

We are looking for a data professional, preferentially with global markets risk and control management experience, to join our GBM Control Office team. In this role, you will:

  • Be involved in reviewing our front to back business franchise to evaluate control functions and key risks managed by the GBM teams. 
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the risk management culture and the control environment across multiple business units and enjoy solving challenges the regulatory environment presents to the global markets business. 
  • Team members should be able to challenge the risk and control framework to further enhance the current environment and ability to analyze data to help drive decisions toward strategic solutions.
  • The candidate should be a skilled data professional who will provide business intelligence to inform data driven decisions. 
  • You will apply your quantitative, problem-solving skills to provide insights in to controls performance and help with defining the broader divisional data strategy and tooling. 
  • You will also play a key role in working with controls engineering team to ensure implementation of key controls in the system

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence/Low-Code Automation
  • Knowledge & experience in the Financial Industry particularly in Global Markets
  • Proficient in prescriptive analytics using tools such as Alteryx or others
  • Proficient in database query languages such as SQL
  • Experience with using multi-dimensional data modeling/data warehousing for data analytics and reporting
  • Analytical, self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with end users, development managers and other stakeholders
  • Strong control mindset with a passion for risk management
  • Ability to think strategically and drive change
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate issues and ideas
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills to collaborate as a global team and build strong relationship with key stakeholders across Divisions
  • Technical & Analytical Focus with attention to detail
  • Proactive, self-starting individual with high levels of ownership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Excel Skills preferred
  • Prior experience in working with engineering to design and implement new products or tooling to assist in data reporting and creating process efficiency
  • Practical experience working in Operations
  • Project management skills
  • Graduate or Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or Engineering
  • Experience in gathering and documenting requirements with full testing traceability
