BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

 We have Collateral Management (Cleared and non-cleared), Portfolio Reconciliation and Margin Lending which are part of Margin, Collateral Valuations Operations (MCVO) sits within the Goldman Sachs Operations organization. A global, multi-faceted and cross product function, the primary objective of the department is the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the active monitoring of clients’ derivative, prime brokerage, GS execution & clearing, derivatives clearing and securities financing portfolios.  The Bangalore MCVO team is works in close partnership with teams in New York, London, Singapore & Salt Lake City.  Products supported include foreign exchange, commodities, credit, equity, interest rate and bespoke structured derivatives, equities , fixed income & OTC Cleared derivatives. The team manages a wide range of complex processes, with members developing skills and competencies around derivative & security products and their respective business areas, legal agreements, technology flows and regulations.

They will be expected to perform these functions as well as demonstrating innovation and a proactive approach, highlighting inefficiencies, risks and implementing improvements. In addition, they will also be expected to provide a high level of service to their clients. The role will involve close interaction with a wide range of areas of the bank including Credit Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, Sales, Trading, Controllers, Middle Office, Client Representatives, Client  Clearing Services and other Operations Departments. As a result the successful candidate will be required to possess strong communication skills.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

An employee within MCVO will primarily be focused on the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the performance of a number of operational processes. They will be expected to perform these functions as well as demonstrating innovation and a proactive approach, highlighting inefficiencies, risks and implementing improvements. In addition, they will also be expected to provide a high level of service to their clients. The role will involve close interaction with a wide range of areas of the bank including Credit Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, Sales, Trading, Controllers, Middle Office, Client Representatives, Central Clearing Services and multiple departments and externally with CCP/Exchange or Brokers. As a result the successful candidate will be required to possess strong communication skills..

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • The role is client facing so the employee will require strong communication skill and should be highly articulate with a strong appreciation of client service
  • Flexible to manage differing challenges and ever-increasing complex nature of transactions
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast moving environment. Team oriented approach to sharing workload and leverage skill sets
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to cope with rapidly changing priorities throughout the day are essential
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to generate creative solutions to problems and challenge processes, be willing to dig into the detail to resolve issues

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-8 years of work experience in margin area or relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with ability to learn Excel macros and other functions 
  • Good working knowledge of product flows and systems, including OTC derivatives, cleared business, prime brokerage and intercompany processes
  • Prior experience with the Cleared Collateral, Futures/DCS business, systems, flows, products and client base
  • Evidence of experience working within Financial Services with exposure to Over the Counter Derivatives.
  • Languages will be beneficial as the Associate could be interacting with clients from across Europe
  • Business Intelligience expertise in Alteryx, SQL etc.. is an added advantage to the role

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Margin Call analysis , validation and Issuane for Futures and OTC Clearing Clietns
  • Ensure timely and accurate settlement of of all margin movements. 
  • Day to day Break management to ensure Ledger integrity and integrity in marign calculations
  • Working with Clearing Houses to ensure margin calls are covered
  • Optimize the marign collateral with Clearing houses by ensuring optimal buffers.
  • Respond to and manage incoming queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Resolution and escalation of all client disputes and queries
  • Proactively working on enhancing the team’s process and controls           
  • Project and initiative management
