GLOBAL BANKING & MARKETS

We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

YOUR IMPACT

Your role will involve active partnership with the sales, trading, credit, legal and other operations teams which will be key to effectively manage the risk and business / client expectations for the trades we support. In addition to the responsibilities assigned to you, you will be encouraged to contribute ideas towards enhancement and streamlining the activities.

OUR IMPACT

The FICC Operations team manages middle office, booking and settlements workflows. The team is responsible for ensuring all trades are confirmed in a timely manner and settled. Partnership with multiple groups is key to effective risk management – teams ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved by leveraging internal sales/trading, technology, legal, Middle office teams and external dealer / client contacts. The analyst is required to be dynamic and client service oriented with high focus on risk and control. From an early stage, we develop and expect our analysts to think creatively and ‘outside the box’, as well as improving the daily process and taking responsibility and ownership for this to happen. The role also requires the ability to seamlessly switch between multiple activities and significant interaction with clients so communication will be a key asset.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Repo MO within FICC Ops support the Repo trading desk by managing trade bookings, trade confirmations, collateral management and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Reconcile trade level and position level economics monitor risk exposure and facilitate smooth settlements by collaborating with various teams. 
  • Have a deep understanding of the repo market operations; comprehensive knowledge of repurchase agreements, mechanics of the repo and reverse repo transactions, key participant and market conventions.
  • Have a deep understanding of the trade lifecycle of a repo transaction and operational processes through each stage.
  • Understand the collateral types commonly used in Repo transactions.
  • Risk manage Bookings, Confirms and Settlements for REPO Transactions
  • Pro-actively work with external clients and Desks to ensure timely allocation and matching of trades in the market.
  • Partner with internal teams - Sales, Trading, Settlements, Credit, Technology and other operations teams to ensure timely confirmation and settlement of trades for good value date.
  • Maintain accurate and clean post settlement workflows along with timely Client money discussions – cash- flow breaks, System breaks, fails etc
  • Design and initiate process improvements with thorough understanding of the teams' processes and controls
  • Create Knowledge management plan for team member and review proficiency levels of testers on team on regular basis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-4yrs of professional experience working in investment banking with expertise in repurchase agreements and fixed income markets. 
  • Proven leadership in managing complex financial transactions and comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and team management skills
