Job Description

Job Duties: Associate, Operational Risk with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Advise, challenge, inform line teams on recommended ways to mitigate risk and review action items to ensure that risk is being sufficiently addressed. Participate in regular risk meetings to review exception landscape across your business units, asking probing questions to establish potential market, client, and other risks which may be contained within our workflows. Work with line managers in ensuring the quarterly Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) accurately reflect the current risk environment and quality of operational controls and define thematic RCSA issues to help structure remediation plans regarding significant open risks or control deficiencies. Manage operational risk events front to back, developing and implementing remediation action items with key stakeholders while adhering to firm reporting guidelines. Prepare weekly reporting highlighting risk management, remediation, control gaps and opportunities using business intelligence (BI) reporting tools. Utilize Alteryx and Tableau dashboard tools to categorize firm exposure and assist management with risk decision making by identifying trends and themes.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year (with a Master’s degree) OR three (3) years (with a Bachelor’s degree) with: risk frameworks including root cause analysis, risk exposure, and remediation action planning; analyzing regular risk and suspense reports to identify control gaps; utilizing business intelligence tools including Alteryx and Tableau to identify trends and themes with risk and controls; advanced Microsoft Excel including working with macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and IF/AND formulas; and working in Operations and with sales and trading.
