Internal Audit

The primary role of Internal Audit (IA) is to help protect the assets, reputation, and sustainability of the organization. IA independently assesses the Firm’s internal control structure. We provide assurance that 1) financial reporting is reliable, 2) there is compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and 3) the firm’s operations are effectively controlled. We assist Management in identifying and commercially managing risks by providing advice in developing control solutions and monitoring the implementation of Management’s control measures. IA assists the Firm’s Board of Directors’ Audit Committee in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities and regularly interacts with the external independent auditors. IA is organized into global teams of business and technology auditors.

The ERM Assurance Program Office (ERM APO) is comprised of two main areas;

  • Program Management Office (PMO): responsible for, among others, 1) developing and overseeing the audit program strategy for the Firmwide Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) uplift program, 2) operating a robust governance process with respect to program management, 3) providing reporting on the program’s progress to senior management, key committees, and regulators, as needed, and 4) ensuring appropriate resourcing and training for the relevant auditors
  • Business Liaison: responsible for, among others, 1) working closely with the relevant stakeholders and their respective teams to support timely and coherent delivery of the independent validation of key commitments critical to the program, 2) identifying risks, assessing mitigating controls, and making recommendations on improving the overall control environment, and 3) conducting continuous monitoring across the various aspects of the program and facilitating updates and reviews with IA senior leadership, stakeholders, and regulators, as required

This role is for the PMO team within ERM APO.

Job Summary & Responsibilities 

  • Support the Head of PMO on all aspects of the ERMF audit program
  • Gather and analyze relevant data points (e.g., audit plan, project budgets) and generate insights when providing periodic reporting for senior leadership and other key stakeholders
  • Provide support in executing the program’s key governance and oversight structures from an IA perspective, ensuring validation schedule is executed as committed and required follow ups are conducted
  • Contribute to cross divisional initiatives to drive timely and high quality delivery of implementation, as needed
  • Play a key role in creating required reporting for senior leadership and other key stakeholders
  • Act as a key thought partner to the team, helping to identify solutions to challenges
  • Ensure materials for relevant meetings are available in a timely manner and follow ups are documented and progressed
  • Perform ad hoc analyses / projects as required

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience preferred in a comparable role in financial services, public accounting, consulting, internal audit or regulatory agency; a successful track record of delivering distinctive results 
  • Strong project management experience - able to work under minimal supervision on individual tasks or on team projects 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task while managing both time and workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to produce presentations that are clear and well organized
  • Strong expertise in PowerPoint, Excel and analysis of performance / modelling
  • Excels at building relationships and networks; confident in interaction with senior stakeholders
  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field is a plus
  • Prior IA background is a plus
  • Prior experience auditing ERMF and major transformation programs at large financial institutions is a plus
  • Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CIA) is a plus

Salary Range 

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
