The Opportunity:

 

CACI is seeking an experienced Cloud SME to join a dynamic team that enjoys the challenge of utilizing the latest technologies to implement state-of-the-art systems for an Enterprise IT as a Service program. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of multiple Cloud Hosting environments to include Azure, AWS and related technologies, providing expert-level support, guidance, and leadership.  Must have experience in DoD Cloud hosting supporting IL4 thru IL6 systems.   

CACI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud services, particularly Microsoft Azure, as well as other cloud platforms. The SME will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud architectures, creating detailed design documents, and ensuring compliance with government cloud environments, specifically at IL4, IL5 and IL6 levels.

The role will require a strong background in cloud solutions, a deep understanding of security standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The candidate must possess a strategic mindset, with the capability to design scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure that meets both business and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.
  • Develop detailed architecture and design documents that outline cloud infrastructure, application deployment, and integration strategies.
  • Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to relevant security standards and guidelines, particularly for government cloud environments at IL4, IL5 and 6 levels.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, security experts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Provide expert-level guidance on cloud technologies, architecture best practices, and cloud migration strategies.
  • Conduct cloud solution assessments, optimization, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans, security protocols, and compliance frameworks in accordance with government regulations.
  • Stay current with the latest cloud technologies, industry trends, and security threats.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 7+ years of relevant work experience (Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).
  • Hands-on experience in IT cloud architecture and design, with a focus on Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Strong experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud solutions in government cloud environments (IL4/IL5/IL6).
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud security standards, including NIST, FedRAMP, and other government security frameworks.
  • Proven ability to create comprehensive architecture and design documentation, including detailed technical diagrams and deployment plans.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure management tools, such as Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, and others.
  • Proficient in cloud security practices, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and network security in cloud environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent) are highly preferred.
  • Must be 8570 (at least IAT LVL 2) compliant by the hire date.
  • Active Secret Security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Desired:

  • Experience working with multi-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for cloud automation and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments (on-premises and cloud-based systems).
  • Previous experience in a government contracting or defense-related environment.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$89,500-$188,000
