Business Insights and Analytics, VP - Marcus by Goldman Sachs

Are you passionate about understanding customers and their needs and using insights to drive business decisions. Do you have experience in customer analysis, MI reporting and forecasting? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering detailed customer insight, analysis and reporting supporting key stakeholders across our product, pricing, marketing, and operations functions. 

Job Summary & Responsibilities 

  • Improve our understanding of customer profile and behaviors including maintaining and improving segmentation models
  • Deliver regular and automated customer insight and reporting using Tableau dashboards to provide key stakeholders with an accurate and detailed view of our customer and product base, behaviors, business performance and operational volumes and SLAs. Examples include: 
    • Vintage reporting
    • Call data insights 
    • Complaint trends
    • Campaign performance 
  • Support business forecasting and pricing activities to optimize business performance
  • Communicate insights and top line commentary with recommendations to stakeholders to help drive business strategy and decisions 
  • Help support weekly competitive landscape production, capturing and reporting peer group rates overtime for various product types
  • Creation of new dashboard builds and reporting
  • Support and assist Technology Engineering in the inclusion of further operational systems data ingestion into our DataWarehousing, to widen our analytical capabilities
  • Ongoing stakeholder engagement to gain understanding of ad-hoc data and reporting requirements

Core Skills:

  • Must be self-directed, detail oriented, positive attitude, driven, able to work independently in a team-oriented and fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical experience potentially in a marketing environment with customer profiling, retention modelling, profitability analysis
  • Understand downstream systems & data, it’s pitfalls & relevance
  • High level of understanding of the macroeconomic environment, and the current challenges facing the economy and how this translates into customer savings behavior, savings rates and inflation within the UK market
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • An ability to build good working relationships across a number of different departments, including Customer Services, Product, Engineering, Marketing and Finance, plus at different seniority levels 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in analyzing and consolidating large volumes of data into different formats to draw out various insights and answer key questions 
  • 3 - 5 years of Tableau experience, in a commercial environment
  • Core understanding of Business Intelligence reporting and KPIs 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access) with strong excel skills (medium to high level) 
  • Tableau experience (high level)
  • SQL experience (high level) 
  • Understanding of ETL (medium level)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree educated (e.g. Statistics/Operational Research degree) or relevant experience
  • Experience in a retail banking environment (retail deposits would be ideal)
