What You’ll Get to Do
You will provide our NAVSEA/NSWC/MSC Technical and Program Office clients with expert technical support in developing the next Navy ships. You will perform as a key engineering lead directly supporting our key clients and be a recognized technical leader among colleagues and team members and perform engineering tasking on programs as broad as the Navy’s fleet – supporting aircraft carriers, combatants, amphibious and auxiliary ships from program initiation through concept, design, construction, life cycle, and fleet support. You will lead critical engineering efforts across various ship design programs. You will advise and support Ship Design Managers, Program/Project Managers, Systems Engineering Managers (SEM), Task Leads, and colleagues on the best practices for shipboard electrical generation, propulsion and distribution systems, including machinery control and propulsion control systems for both new construction and fleet modernization programs. As a Mid-Level Naval Electrical Engineer, you will ensure Naval and Commercial Engineering Standards and Quality Assurance Processes are met while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating teammates. You will stay current in modern ship design requirements, analysis, emerging technologies, from traditional CAD and Excel analyses to digital engineering and modeling methods and evolving advanced equipment design trends. You will be a self-starter, perform as a team player cross multiple engineering management teams, and support technical proposal development as needed.
The Primary Focus for this role is a lead and/or co-lead role supporting NAVSEA and MSC Programs in the following electrical technical areas, including but not limited to Main and Auxiliary Diesel and Gas Turbine Generators, Integrated Electrical Plants (hybrid and full), Low Voltage AC and DC, and Medium Voltage AC Electrical Plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electrical Plant Load Analyses (EPLA), One Line Diagrams, Power Load Flow, Harmonic Power Quality, Transient System and Fault Current Analyses, Circuit Breaker Protective Coordination Studies, Machinery Centralized Control Systems (MCCS), and Electric Propulsion Control Systems. Candidate will have experience with various OEM offerings conveying a practitioner’s knowledge for all phases of acquisition based on deck plate and/or shipyard, and Naval, MSC, or OEM project experiences. Candidate will be well versed across many ship platforms and/or have a proven track record across some of the following platforms: MSC T-Ships, AMPHIBS, Carriers, and/or Combatants, FMS Programs, USCG Programs, Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMSs) and/or Unmanned Maritime Vehicles (UMVs). Candidate is willing to make technical and industry connections with customers in markets such as NAVSEA 05Z, shipyards, and other marine engineering consulting firms and willing to grow CACI’s electrical team presence in the marine industry.
This position can be worked at the Washington Navy Yard or remotely.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
