Department: Power Generation Field Services

Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Salary Non-Exempt

Reports To: Field Service Supervisor (Power Gen)

Location: Houston, TX & Other States

Amount of Travel Required: >75%

Work Schedule: Positions Supervised: N/A

  • Houston, TX Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • When traveling on job assignment, on-call and overtime availability is required.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Power Generation Field Representative 1 assists with the mobilization/demobilization and maintenance of our gas turbine and gas turbine packages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all necessary job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word 'may.')

  • Mobilizes and demobilizes gas turbine packages and related equipment within scheduled time constraints.
  • Under the Power Generation Field Lead and Supervisor's direction, prepare and install hardware on gas turbine and air handling trailer, following installation instructions per checklist and field service lead guidance.
  • Assists with installing the gas turbine to generator coupling and alignment.
  • Provides pre-job and post-job analysis (where applicable).
  • Understands and conducts work under the company’s safety rules, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
  • Evaluates operational readiness of gas turbine and related equipment.
  • Manages spare parts and consumables.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity. 

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Possesses a valid U.S. Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • When on assignment at the pad site, daily overtime is required, and in-person, predictable attendance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0-3 years previous mechanical and or control experience.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to speak, read, and comprehend fundamental English.
  • Ability to attend, participate, and complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and completes annual safety recertification training.
  • Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to take instruction well and positively interact with other employees within the framework of assigned work groups.
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and be receptive to new instructions.
  • Fully knowledgeable, compliant, and takes initiative to promote and work with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company-mandated systems. For new hires, the ability to quickly learn company platforms.
  • Possess basic proficiency in Microsoft platforms (Office, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Possess the ability to learn and effectively demonstrate rig up rig down procedures within 3 months of employment.
  • Possess the ability to learn and effectively demonstrate the steps for outside rig up/rig down procedures and coupling room techniques.
  • Strong ability to organize daily tasks and work within defined timelines to meet operational requirements.
  • Pays attention to detail, dedicated, and diligent in operational execution.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADVANCEMENT: (Promotions may occur only after the following qualifications have been satisfied. Promotions are not guaranteed and are subject to the availability of position openings.)

  • Demonstrated ability to prove aptitude in technical skill and competency assessments, including Journey management, vehicle inspections, outdoor rig down/rig up, coupling room processes, and equipment alignment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Field representatives are required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, and squat/kneel daily. They are often required to visit a website, and the work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB, and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions, employees are required to wear company-mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and safety gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. Additionally, Field representatives, when not traveling on a job assignment, work in a warehouse/shop environment that makes them susceptible to common hazards such as physical strain, moving machinery, loading, unloading, falling objects, slips, trips, and falls. Field representatives are regularly required to lift heavy objects; therefore, an individual must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently, and 50-100 lbs. with a team lift.

Work hours often include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
