The Employee Engagement team at Verizon is looking for a senior project manager to improve how we reach, engage, and motivate our V Teamers. As a key member of the Employee Engagement Center of Excellence, you will work closely with our communications team and partners to develop and implement effective communication strategies and tactics that elevate Verizon’s reputation as an employer of choice.
The Project Management Senior Manager of Employee Engagement is responsible for helping manage the editorial calendar across internal communications, developing and tracking communication plans, drafting and editing content, supporting global change initiatives through effective communications, as well as managing the effective delivery of communications across our key channels. This role will work closely with the Associate Director of Employee Engagement, the Employee Engagement team, and other members of the Corporate Communications team. This project manager will also help ensure that communications are aligned with the company's overall business objectives and delivered effectively and timely and that strategic objectives are being met through effective measurement and continuous improvement.
As an experienced project manager, your responsibilities will include elevating our project tracking and reporting capabilities and systems. You must be willing to constantly innovate and seek out the best practices, latest trends, best technologies, and most efficient processes.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and executing a comprehensive employee engagement strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals.
Supporting the development and implementation of internal and external communications campaigns.
Helping coordinate the editorial calendar and ensuring that all content is accurate, engaging, and timely.
Accurately targeting employee audiences to ensure that communications are delivered effectively and in compliance.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of employee engagement initiatives and building strategies to continuously improve effectiveness.
Staying up-to-date on the latest trends in project management, communications traffic management, as well as metrics and reporting best practices.
Identifying positive stories and storytellers, empowering employees to share their experiences, and preparing executives to tell the Verizon story through powerful and persuasive messaging, research, and data.
Partnering with internal functions (including Corporate Communications, Human Resources, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Employee Resource Groups, etc.) to create communications plans that ensure strategic information is delivered in a timely and effective manner.
Creating feature articles, videos, and content that motivate employees.
Developing effective communications that convey Verizon’s mission, actions, values, culture, and strategy to support key business priorities.
Planning, producing, and editing content for a variety of media including email announcements, presentations, events, leader messages, social media posts, and videos.
Proofreading and editing content, ensuring achievement of high editorial standards and alignment with our brand voice.
Partnering with the Corporate Communications Shared Services team on design, development, and message distribution.
Coordinating the distribution of communications through a variety of channels.
Assisting in tracking and measuring the effectiveness of communications.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience in employee engagement and communications.
Project management experience.
Experience creating employee-centric communications materials.

Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to support multiple projects and clients and work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions.

Understanding of the complexities of working within a global organization and its impact on deliverables (e.g., global processes, languages, time zones, cultural differences, etc.).

Superb critical thinking skills and the ability to take a concept from ideation and strategy to execution autonomously.
Experience managing corporate change programs.
Project management certification.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Experience in public relations, marketing, and social media.
Creative design skills.
Ability to learn and understand systems.
Computer-savvy with experience using Google Suite and Microsoft Office software and tools.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $109,000.00 and $202,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
