Position Title: Project Manager
Provide overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of the project from initial bid preparation through completion, under the guidance of the project management organization. Responsible for delivering the project safely, in accordance with quality standards, on time, and within budget. Work will take place in Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky or Ohio.
What You'll Do
- Work with safety personnel to ensure that project is being built in accordance with OSHA and company regulations and that proper training is occurring.
- Through understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and activities for Transmission, Distribution, Substation and Drilling of Foundations for electrical and renewable energy.
- Responsible for the project controls and contract management. Works closely with the project management organization to ensure consistency and adherence to organizational best practices.
- Works closely with the construction management to ensure successful delivery of the project.
- Maintain a professional appearance with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and to provide positive leadership to motivate personnel.
- Define problems, collect information, and establish facts to provide an appropriate resolution.
- Lead pre-construction efforts in bid preparation, contract and exhibit review, and execution planning.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Setup, organize, update, and maintain electronic and printed files of working documents in accordance with outlined document control practices.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.
- Monitor/control construction through communication with superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget.
- Work with contract manager to oversee contracts to protect company's interest while maintaining good relationships.
- Review cost reports and evaluate methods to reduce cost while maintaining productivity. Manage budget projection for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors procured on the project.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly projections and progress for all construction activities.
- Responsible for working with project controls manager to provide project cost forecasting, monthly cost to complete development, and accuracy of reporting.
- Responsible for the invoicing or payment application process as well as monitoring the quality of weekly labor and equipment hours, material, and subcontractor reporting.
- Responsible for productivity, efficient use of materials/equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
- Lead daily, weekly and monthly meetings, as required, including the formulation of the agenda and minutes.
- Develop, submit, track, and maintain all project submittals and requests for information.
- Develop, negotiate, submit, track, and maintain client and/or subcontractor change orders.
- Develop scope of work and project schedules in Microsoft Excel, Project, or Primavera.
- Generate daily, weekly, or monthly meeting documents as required.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.

- Knowledge of design, estimating, construction, finance, and management.

- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards and activities.
- Accounting (math and record-keeping) to include the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).
- Familiar with Primavera P6, JD Edwards, Hubble, EcoSys, Incorta, and Bid 2 Win technology platforms.
- Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening) and ability to lead meetings.
- Effective motivational and supervisory skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
- Ability to travel and work on project locations is essential.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in construction science, construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or similar related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Minimum of (5) five years project or construction management, estimating, or project controls experience in similar construction.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of project management, project controls, contract management, budgeting, estimating, schedules, negotiations, construction management (technology, equipment, methods), and safety required.
