About this Role

As the Regional Fleet Manager for Irby Construction, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of our equipment fleet to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective utilization. Working closely with Irby's centralized corporate equipment operations, you will serve as a liaison between the Texas region and corporate, managing equipment logistics, maintenance, and compliance with safety standards.

Location: This role will be based in Lockhart, TX, but will require extensive travel throughout the Texas region, and potentially relocation depending on worksite locations.

What You'll Do

  • Equipment Management: Track and manage equipment daily by job site, including both owned and rented machinery. Collaborate with Operations and Project Management to allocate equipment for upcoming projects, ensuring optimal utilization.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Oversee repairs and maintenance, working closely with mechanics. Generate purchase orders for necessary repairs and ensure cost-effective maintenance practices. Maintain accurate records to mitigate expenses.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure that all equipment meets regulatory compliance standards, including DOT, OSHA, and other federal, state, and municipal rules. Conduct regular inspections and maintain safety protocols.
  • Technology Integration: Manage GPS and camera systems on all fleet equipment to ensure proper functionality and monitoring.
  • Corporate Coordination: Work closely with field operations and corporate management to align regional needs with overall company goals.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to support fleet operations.

What You'll Bring

  • Regulatory Knowledge: General understanding of DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency with equipment telematics systems, including Verizon Connect Fleet and vehicle camera systems.
  • Fleet Management Software: Experience with Oracle JD Edwards (Fixed Assets and Equipment Maintenance modules) and Hubble Insight reporting software.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft platforms.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on detail and thoroughness in task execution.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of climbing steps and ladders and climbing on and off heavy construction equipment and lifting and moving heavy objects when necessary.
  • Must be able to travel for project support as needed.
