Job Description

Job Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in New York, New York. Assess, review, analyze, and provide oversight for credit criteria and credit risk strategies for lending products specifically on underwriting new customers as well as ongoing account management functions including monitoring and managing performance of credit exposures and balances. Design and write complex data queries to extract credit data from credit systems and conduct analysis of portfolio performance, deep dive analysis of trends, provide insights on credit risk drivers, summarize findings, and recommend changes. Detect notable industry trends and identify existing/emerging drivers of risk in a portfolio to drive guardrail design and proactive management of the portfolio by formulating risk-mitigating strategies. Provide support for portfolio credit risk oversight and governance by tracking the actual performance of risk appetite and credit risk management metrics against approved guardrails. Enhance and manage processes that quantify, review, explain and convey insight for risk measurements for financial products or activities in the Firm including financial/non-financial risk. Support credit risk management senior leadership in partnering with business units and broader Credit department to assess data availability, data sufficiency, and reporting needs. Create management reporting using Tableau or other cutting-edge visual interface-based tools to monitor portfolio performance at portfolio segment level (e.g., product, vintage, risk segment, score band, or marketing channel). Provide support to Senior Leadership during interactions and updates to internal/external regulators and address internal audit requirements and findings in a timely manner. Manage, mentor, and provide guidance to junior analysts. 

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Data Analytics, Financial Engineering, Information Systems, or Business Analytics and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Data Analytics, Financial Engineering, Information Systems, or Business Analytics and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include four (4) years of experience (with Master’s degree) or five (5) years of experience (with Bachelor’s degree) with: credit risk management; using credit bureau data and other alternate data sources; working with regulations and compliance requirements in lending; utilizing complex statistical techniques including decision trees, regression modeling, machine learning, or time series data analysis; using programming languages including SAS, SQL, R, or Python to extract, manage, and manipulate data and generate reports; Advanced Microsoft Excel functionality including macros, pivot tables, v-lookup, slicers, and h-lookup and Microsoft PowerPoint to produce and present analytical insights and highlight data trends; utilizing Business Intelligence Software solutions include Tableau to provide actionable insights for Business decisions; and managing multiple time-sensitive projects and build consensus across teams and stakeholders.

Salary Range: Annual base salary for this New York, New York -based position is $172,000/year - $250,000/year.
