Job Description

Organization: Risk Division, Operational Risk 

Team / Role: Transformation

Level/Location: Associate, Salt Lake City

The Operational Risk Department at Goldman Sachs is an independent risk management function responsible for developing and implementing a standardized framework to identify, measure, and monitor operational risk across the firm. 

This Transformation role requires an energetic self-starter with project/product management expertise dedicated to strengthening the components of the firm’s operational risk management framework. This role will be responsible to drive forward ongoing development of the operational risk management framework.    

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a broad group of stakeholders to define a holistic and integrated roadmap for transformation initiatives. Support execution with a sense of urgency
  • Engage with stakeholders to structure ambiguous problems and take action to solve them without complete information
  • Provide support and coordination during initiation, scoping, requirements definition, development, testing, and go-live stages to ensure that the divisional objectives are met within agreed timeframes. Timely escalate items at risk and clearly articulate the impact
  • Maintain regular communication channels to ensure alignment across various stakeholder groups and functions
  • Prepare materials for working groups and committees, requirement specifications, test plans, etc.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience, which could include working in operational risk with project, change and/or product management skills working in a financial institution’s risk or transformation division 
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management best-practices and controls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present with impact and influence
  • Persistent, resourceful and tenacious self-starter adept at navigating complex challenges and ambiguity
  • Intellectually curious mindset and motivation to identify creative, innovative solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong delivery focus
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate concurrent activities with multiple interdependencies across several teams
  • Ability to work in a team environment and knowledge share with other colleagues within team
  • Proficiency in World, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint/OneDrive
  • Experience with agile project delivery methods is preferred
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence is preferred
  • Data analysis and visualization experience is preferred
