About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team who has experience in the utility space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures related to underground electrical systems.

What You'll Do

  • Inspecting and Monitoring:Conduct regular inspections of underground electrical systems to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments to evaluate potential hazards associated with underground power activities and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees and contractors on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices for working with underground electrical systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant safety regulations and standards pertaining to underground electrical systems and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training activities, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.

What You'll Bring

  • HS Diploma/GED (Required)
    • Associates in Safety, Occupational Health or related field (preferred)
  • At least one (1) Nationally recognized Safety Certification(s) (preferred)
    • CHST, ASP, CSP, CSHO, COSS, COSM, CUSP, SMS.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the field.
  • Electrical Transmission and Distribution safety background (preferred)
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish (Oral and Written) (preferred)
  • First Aid, CPR and AED Trainer.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software/tools
  • Value a team environment and understanding supporting other individuals and team.
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time.
