About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Supervisor to join our team who has experience in the utility space. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures related to underground electrical systems.

This individual must be an initiative-taker and highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. This position requires someone with the ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding our policies, procedures, and software programs.

What You'll Do

  • Be an advocate for safe working conditions and influence all team members to commit to a safe working environment.
  • Promote safe working conditions on job sites and encourage employees to identify unsafe conditions or actions.
  • Plan and execute company-wide quarterly safety meetings.
  • Perform regular jobsite safety inspections to ensure compliance with national, state, company, and client requirements.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation training as well as exit interviews.
  • Develop jobsite and project specific Health and Safety Plans.
  • Maintain and update recordkeeping programs such as OSHA 300
  • Identify and evaluate potential unsafe working conditions and take corrective action to prevent injuries and accidents.
  • Establish positive working relationships and interact with site and client safety personnel.
  • Create and review Site-Specific Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and Safety Action Plans.
  • Investigate accidents, determine root cause, and implement preventive measures.
  • Conduct audits and site inspections of job sites.
  • Train employees in all relevant aspects of OSHA Standards and Company Safety Policies.
  • Maintain safety training documentation.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Industrial or equivalent degree/work experience
  • Must have a Nationally recognized Safety Certification(s)
    • OHST, CHST, ASP, CSP, CSHO, COSS, COSM, CUSP, SMS
  • 7+ years of experience in Safety and Health in the Construction Field.
  • Electrical Transmission and Distribution safety background (preferred)
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) (required)
  • OSHA 30 for Construction Card
  • OSHA 500 Authorized Trainer.
  • OSHA ET&D Authorized Trainer is a plus.
  • First Aid, CPR and AED Trainer
  • Ability and willingness to interact with management and clients.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel. Able to navigate Safety Auditing Software.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time.
