Job Description Summary:

Our Global Markets European organisation is seeking a high-performing Senior Director to lead the commercial Enterprise teams in our German, Austrian and Swiss markets.

The focus for the Enterprise teams is to develop and execute commercial growth strategies with the largest companies in the region. This includes acquiring new merchant customers by unlocking holdouts and penetrating new verticals. It also includes cross-/ upselling to our existing merchants base and ensuring our customers’ ongoing success with our products and services. The Senior Director Enterprise DEATCH is responsible for driving incremental sales as well as portfolio growth.

The ideal candidate is passionate about payments & commerce and has a proven track record in Sales and Customer Success Management. They have experience in defining commercial strategies, setting direction, and influencing & unifying stakeholders at all levels of the organisations to create value for customers and drive business outcomes.

The role is highly visible in the organisation and reports into the VP & Managing Director Germany, Austria & Switzerland, within the Global Markets Organisation. It involves frequent collaboration with senior leaders in Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Product, Engineering, and with operational teams across the company. It includes meeting with key customers virtually and in person.

Job Description:

Your way to impact

  • Lead the Enterprise Sales and Customer Success Management teams, responsible for the largest merchants in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
  • Commercially manage of the Enterprise segment, accountable to achieve incremental sales and portfolio growth targets. 
  • Define the regional sales strategy, handle quota assignments, pipeline management, forecasting, reporting, and other operational aspects of the sales process, to drive & optimize the performance of the Sales teams.
  • Ensure our customers’ success, through a deep understanding of their needs

Your day-to-day

  • Manage the day-to-day operations, resolve merchant pain-points, identify areas of joint growth and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop relationships and credibility required to effectively convey the value of PayPal’s solutions and vision to C-level executives.
  • Strong collaboration with internal stakeholders across PayPal globally such as technology and product specialists, finance, sales and integration engineers, legal, risk, sales operations, marketing and other teams as appropriate to achieve desired results. 
  • Serve as a catalyst for change and continuous improvement. As the voice of customer, based on learnings and competitor analysis, provide valuable insights on product enhancements, new solutions and go-to market strategies. 
  • Employ superior negotiation and communication abilities as an influencer while embodying integrity and trust.
  • Lead, coach, train & mentor a team of Sales and Customer Success leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Represent PayPal externally with our merchants, partners, at conferences and industry events.

What do you need to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree – MBA preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in business development or enterprise account management, particularly driving progress with global executives on technology solutions payments and commerce strategies.
  • Track record in successful leading a commercial organisation, achieving sales targets and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and in command of all accountable KPIs combined with excellent executive-level storytelling.  Strong analytical mindset and proven ability to turn data into action.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with a high degree of comfort engaging with technical leaders internally and externally.
  • Ability to think and work creatively to develop unique joint value propositions and product strategy within PayPal.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into the essential points needed to inform executive decision making.
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Passionate about always driving improved efficiency and innovating. Push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing practices and mindsets and instil this in the team.
