As Senior Director of Partners and Sponsors, you would be responsible for leading, developing and tracking strategic initiatives to maximize partnership success.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Leading a team focused on bringing the Verizon brand, businesses and products to life across a wide range of activations and live events.

  • Setting the strategic vision for the partnership activation areas and works across internal teams/business units to develop a holistic approach and integration into communication plans.

  • Presenting updates on key partner activations to senior leadership to inform strategy and execution planning.

  • Developing and implementing measurement plans to showcase ROI of the partnership or platform activation.

  • Coordinating with Marketing and Marketing Analytics teams to analyze performance, monitor partnership investment for improvements, ensuring overall partner ROI goals are being fully met.

  • Ensuring activations are within budget and aligned with overall strategic goals.

  • Identifying, leading and implementing opportunities for large-scale, multifaceted sponsorships and partnerships.

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team to deliver exceptional service or performance.

  • Setting the strategic vision for the partnership activation strategy across internal teams/ LOBs to develop a holistic approach, strategy to achieve objectives and integration into communication plans, sales strategies, marketing programs, tech and innovation roadmaps and more.

  • Developing end-to-end activation programs working in conjunction with business, brand, creative, social, media and experiential teams to achieve ROI and other objectives.

  • Activating talent relationships across industries.

  • Being accountable for driving strategy/agency activation for partners.

  • Driving demand for new customer acquisition to meet gross add goals for the business.

  • Developing and driving engagement with programs that play off Verizon’s Network Superiority and reduce churn via Verizon Access benefits.

  • Developing and implementing measurement plans to showcase ROI of the full partnership or platform.

  • Coordinating with VZ Marketing and BU Marketing Analytics teams to analyze performance and monitor partner activation investment for improvements while ensuring overall partner ROI goals are being fully met.

  • Utilizing data across channels to further bolster the data informed aspects of our plans with data driven decisions and personalized messaging.

  • Effective stakeholdering and tight coordination with Integrated Marketing, Brand Creative, media and Business Units to ensure partner activation objectives are achieved.

  • Working closely with other internal teams: Centralized media functions, Creative teams, Business Unit Sales and Marketing and Product teams, Network team, Local market teams, Finance, Legal and external agencies including key partners (i.e Momentum, Art & Science). Evolve the commercial architecture (partner, channel, direct, compensation plans) to enable high-speed expansion of products to properly balance the success of the long-term business strategy with near-term objectives.

  • Defining internal alignment with select Verizon teams to ensure a well-rounded go to market plan that utilizes Verizon as a potential channel for sales.

  • Developing strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all commercial decisions and strategy.

  • Ensuring the proper performance and financial efficiency of our commercial organization.

  • Driving alignment with the executive team on sales and marketing prioritization and large customer engagements.

  • Ensuring close partner activations with the product team to collectively bring high-quality software to customers in accordance with customer pain points, requirements, quality standards, and timelines.

  • Working closely with our service line leads to promote our products to existing and new customers.



What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor's degree or eight years or more of relevant work experience.

  • Ten or more years of experience in Activation, Marketing, and/or Sports Marketing.

  • Ten or more years of experience in managing large, high-exposure partnership deals and activations

  • Five or more years of strategic / investment roadmap and strategic planning experience

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing and/or equivalent work experience; MBA strongly desired

  • Proven ability to assess and evaluate new opportunities

  • Established sports league and club network of senior level relationships and experience in successful brand activations leveraging sports partnerships

  • Innovative thinker and proven leader

  • Strong team leadership experience; ability to build and lead a high-performing team, develop and nurture growth, and ability to motivate and direct employees to achieve business objectives

  • Strong strategic thinker; ability to develop and articulate effective strategies to achieve business objectives and balance day-to-day tactical issues with strategic initiatives

  • Strong financial acumen and proven negotiation skills

  • Strong project management discipline demonstrated by a history of on-time and on-budget launches; deadline oriented

  • Ability to translate business and marketing strategy into an effective sponsorship strategy

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; deliver clear presentations at the most senior levels

  • Relationship driven; builds credible and trusting relationships with a broad range of colleagues, stakeholders, and business partners

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, high-visibility, complex, technical projects and priorities



Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances. If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $193,000.00 and $358,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
