Job Description:

The Opportunity:

CACI seeks a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VID) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our DoD customer in implementing enterprise-level solution. On this program, CACI will deliver enhanced capabilities and services to implement and operate an enterprise ITSM solution, enterprise service desk, endpoint management and security solution, as well as CONUS/OCONUS field support and life cycle support for end-user devices to enable the DoD customer to transition focus from IT operations to mission operations.

As a VDI SME, you will guide the engineering team in designing and implementing, VDI solutions as a service.  The program supports a LARGE enterprise covering over 200+ locations and remote workstations.  The position requires experience with multiple VDI technologies.  This role will create analysis of alternatives for different sets of business needs followed by developing a design for the selected solution addressing those needs, and through iterative work in multiple environments and locations.

This role will be part of the Engineering Technical Lead organization to help oversee the implementation of the different tools and solutions provided by the contract.

Responsibilities:

You will be a VDI SME for the Engineering team.  You will work hand in hand with the VDI and Cloud implementation teams.

  • Provide VDI Architecture Design development in collaboration with VDI team(s)
  • Provide expert-level technical guidance on VDI architecture, performance optimization, and security best practices.
  • Review and aid in development of the implementation plan and schedule.
  • Provide quality control oversight of the implementation.
  • Troubleshoot complex VDI issues and develop innovative solutions to improve system performance and user experience.
  • Provide tier 4 support on issues, guide teams on resolution and after-action review.
  • Design solutions to support DoD IL4-6 security needs.
  • Manage integration and optimization of performance, scalability, and security of VDI solutions.
  • Be a member of cross functional team of SME’s.  This team will help oversee the technical integration and implementation of solutions provided for this contract.
  • Assist with product/solution analysis of new and existing tools for new/changing customer needs.
  • Produce Concept of Operations, Analysis of Alternatives reports for new products/solutions.
  • Provide weekly and monthly status reports and fulfill other reporting requirements as required for overall program reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Active Secret Clearance is required
  • 15+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
  • Required DoD 8140 compliant certification such as CompTIA Security+
  • Expert in VDI Technologies and Trends
    • Azure Virtual Desktop
    • Hyper-V VDI
    • VMWare VDI
  • Knowledge with network and system security principles, protocols, and configurations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex security tool issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of industry compliance standards (e.g., NIST) and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is advantageous.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and emerging security tools.
  • Other relevant cybersecurity certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), are a plus.
