Job Description Summary:

PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 1 in San Jose, CA. PayPal Compliance Platform offers capabilities that cater to the regulatory guidelines applicable to PayPal (and Inc properties) as per the jurisdiction. The entire platform is organized in a layered architecture for all tenets of the PayPal products. Platform governance, modernization and convergence are well defined. Platform development goals strive to maintain its robustness with evolving tech stack that would enable rapid product enhancements.

Job Description:

Develop software solutions for service monitoring, automated remediation, measuring availability and reliability, performance, analytics, network.  

Occasionally contribute to design and code reviews. 

Design, develop, and deliver software related to platforms at scale.  

Automating maintenance tasks with easily manageable configurations, solving scalability bottlenecks to improve performance and maximize system availability by ensuring functional and performance SLAs.  

Design, implement, and test complex, multi-tier distributed software application frameworks collaboratively with peers and technical leaders.  

Enhance code quality across multiple projects. 

Design and execute migration strategies from existing experiences and services to new infrastructure.   

Isolate errors by trouble-shooting the application stack from application to framework to underlying infrastructure dependencies and network.   

Troubleshoot issues in a timely manner and recommend the root cause fixes for the issues.  

Build performance efficient, highly scalable, configurable, and available software applications and systems.  

Design, develop, and test high throughput back-end software systems.  

Develop object-oriented software and design, code, and test complex software features.  

Segment and design technical system layers to support layered software application development, including business logic functionality and database/component repository access.  

Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other software live issues.  

Identify and make recommendations to reduce software project risks.  

Develop innovative technical solutions.  

 

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering in closely related field
