Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a SolarWinds Engineer responsible for engineering, optimizing, configuring and monitoring the performance of a system using SolarWinds. This position is hybrid one day a week onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD.

**Secret Clearance Required** can hold a Top Secret

Responsibilities:

• Configure SolarWinds to meet the specific needs of the system to successfully monitor the performance and availability
• Create SolarWinds console roles and reviews, and create and install custom modules as needed
• Monitor existing applications/systems and infrastructure, including creating custom reports on SolarWinds monitoring reports
• Research and monitor current end-user response times as well as application and system performance and availability
• Work directly with the application and infrastructure teams to setup Performance monitoring for the applications, databases, network and Cloud
• Determine problems within SolarWinds systems, provide solutions for issue resolution.
• Work to improve monitoring capabilities through seeking customer feedback; Collaborate with other IT professionals to develop and implement strategies for improving network and system performance using SolarWinds.
• Train and support other users on how to use SolarWinds, and provide application support broadly across multiple teams

Required Skills:

• Active Secret Clearance – can hold a Top Secret
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• 6+ years hands on experience with SolarWinds
• 5+ years of experience in SolarWinds monitoring
• 5+ years of experience on multiple OS platforms
• Experience with monitoring multiple environments and VMware virtualization technologies
• Familiarity with Microsoft, UNIX, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux server OS

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing standard operating procedures and project documentation
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN network infrastructure technologies
• Knowledge of automation using tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, etc
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, such as VMware 
• Experience in Agile delivery

Compensation:

185,000-195,000k- depending on years of experience and degree
