Job Description Summary:

The Senior Director of Payments and Partnerships in Asia Pacific is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with various payment and product partners in the Asia Pacific region. This includes but is not limited to, banks, payment processors, fintech companies, other financial institutions, product vendors, suppliers and industry groups. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to implement and optimize product and payment solutions, driving innovation, and ensuring that the organization’s product and payment strategies align with overall business objectives. The role is responsible for regional partners and partner management across the Asia Pacific region and coordinates global and regional relationship oversight for critical partners and vendors. This person will work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, product, technology, and legal teams, to ensure the success of payment initiatives.

Job Description:

Strategic Partnership Development:

    • Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with key payment providers, processors, financial institutions and any other service providers.
    • Negotiate agreements, including terms, pricing, and service levels, to maximize value and ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Lead contract negotiations and ensure that all partnership agreements align with the company’s goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Payment Strategy and Innovation:
    • Develop and execute the company’s product and payment strategy in market in collaboration with senior leadership.
    • Identify and assess emerging trends and technologies in the industry ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
    • Drive the adoption of new solutions and channels to enhance customer experience and optimize transaction processes.
  • Cross-functional Leadership:
    • Collaborate with product, technology, and finance teams to integrate and optimize payment solutions across platforms.
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives to implement product and payments systems, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with business goals.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on all matters related to partnerships.
  • Performance Management and Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze the performance of all partners and solutions to ensure they meet or exceed expectations.
    • Develop and maintain KPIs to track the success of partnership and payment initiatives.
    • Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of partnerships and related strategic initiatives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure that all partnerships and payment solutions comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
    • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to manage risks associated with partnerships.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to partnerships

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or a related role within the financial services or fintech industry.
    • Proven track record of developing and managing high-level partnerships with product/ payment providers, financial institutions and other suppliers.
    • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
    • In-depth knowledge of fintech products, payment systems, financial regulations, and industry trends.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
    • Strategic thinking with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Work Environment:

  • The role may require occasional travel to meet with partners, attend industry conferences, or collaborate with other teams.
