The AI Research Program Management team has an immediate opening for a Senior Program Manager to work with technical leadership to manage software tools and technology deliverables from our AI/ML research programs.  If you enjoy seeing the results of your strong engineering, communication, and organizational skills supporting the goals of Qualcomm’s AI research and its intersection with customers and the open-source community, this job is for you.
 

We’re looking for candidates with a strong background in software engineering, experience in program management, and a deep interest in advanced AI research such as GenAI.

As a Senior Program Manager for Qualcomm’s AI Research group, you’ll proactively manage the deliverables of a team of engineers building tools targeted to support new platforms and services. This is an entrepreneurial team of researchers whose work has global impact. Program Managers have advanced technical degrees and count on these skills to drive successful projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of Program Management or related work experience.

Duties of this role include:

  • Deliver programs for AI-based software tools research and development team in partnership with engineering leads
  • Establish and manage a plan of record (POR), prioritizing deliverables
  • Liaise with commercial PMO (Project Management Office) and engineering teams for transfer of technologies and features
  • Translate the organizational strategy and evolving software roadmaps into successful programs, and drive decisions necessary for program delivery by partnering with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain program progress dashboards including disciplined tracking of information and risks.
  • Support team activities at academic conferences such as demo development and workshop participation
  • Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities across various corporate systems supporting or impacting the research organization.
  • Coordinate with IT, Standards, and legal departments to facilitate team access to tools, systems and materials needed to support research.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of working with operating budgets, resources, and/or project financials.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience e.g. System development, Machine Learning, DevOps

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in CS, CE, EE, or related field
  • Strong engineering experience in areas of software development e.g., embedded SW (software), open-source software, application, or libraries
    • Experience with leading or contributing to AI/ML projects
    • Engineering Lead, Program Management, or related work experience.
    • Familiarity working with project dashboards, Gannt charts, Excel, Atlassian etc

Pay range:

$154,400.00 - $231,600.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
