In this role, the candidate will work with local and global teams to understand and define Automotive specific features including security, safety, power applied to Automotive products on our current and next generation SoCs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years Software and Systems Engineering or related work experience.
  • Possess 4+ yrs of experience in embedded software driver development and having expertise in the below areas would be preferred:
  • Strong C and Assembly Programming with OS & Multi-Processor concepts.
  • Embedded software driver development in C and C++ on ARM.
  • Good debugging skills with experience on debugging with Lauterbach JTAG debuggers.
  • Hands on experience of driver development on any Qualcomm chipset.
  • Basic understanding of soc IPs such as clocks, PLLs, GPIO, Interrupt Controllers, peripherals such as PCIE, USB, UFS along with DCVS and Thermal Mitigation concepts.
  • Basic knowledge on Power Mgmt IC including Regulators, LDOs.
  • Closely work with the hardware team to contribute/suggest modifications to the hardware board design.
  • ARM Trust-Zone & ARMv7/v8 architecture with good knowledge on MMU, access control, XPU, SMMU is desirable.
  • Working knowledge on Qualcomm chipsets with experience in communication between SoC and Power mgmt. IC, boot flow, resets, debug architecture would help.
  • Bachelors/Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Leverages advanced Software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate critical embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.

  • As an individual contributor should be able to debug issues using T32 or via crash logs and work with respective technology teams in fixing these issues.
  • Should be able to ramp up fast and must have the attitude to work with the team.
  • Work on challenging customer requirements and issues.
  • Must possess HW and systems knowledge while debugging board or driver level issues.
  • As a lead, analyze user needs, software requirements, time and cost constraints to design and customize sophisticated software for optimal operational efficiency.
  • Should be able to ramp up quickly on Qualcomm automotive chipsets and platforms along with the feature set offered.
  • Designs and implements software sub-systems for complex, large-scale products and systems.
  • Leads design, coding, and testing efforts to ensure that projects are completed to specifications and schedules.
  • Perform threat modeling on system security, derive security recommendations and incorporate them into security designs.
  • Performs highly complex code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code. 
  • Collaborates with individuals outside the software function (e.g., Hardware, Systems, and Test engineers) to increase leverage and design solutions that work with other components of a specific project.
  • Writes detailed technical documentation for highly complex Software projects; reviews technical documentation for junior engineers.

  • Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$152,000.00 - $228,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
