Job Description

The Savings and Membership Department (SMD) Learning Solutions team partners with every division in SMD to help build a skilled, engaged, and empowered team. Our team is part of a back-office support division. We are a learning branch that sees to the training, facilitation, documentation, communication, and change management needs of the department. The Summer Associate will spend their time with us helping to refine insights gained through the collection and analysis of data and/or provide project support. We are seeking to better understand our impacts on knowledge transfer, upskilling, engagement, and employee development.   

At present the following are potential projects that our Summer Associate may take part in:

  • Project/data support on major SMD strategic initiatives such as Membership Onboarding Reimagined Experience 
  • Assistance in standing up/prep for the QA function of SMD Learning Solutions based on analysis of current practices
  • Work on SMD personalized learning and automation project
  • Support for workforce planning project
  • Data and analytics project

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Adult Learning, Education, Instructional Design/Technology, Human Capital Management, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or other related degree
  • Project management or coordination experience
  • Data visualization experience 
  • Effective skill in presenting at and/or facilitating meetings
  • Experience working with ambiguous problems
  • Desired: knowledge of adult learning and change management principles 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
  • Support uploading of data and content into tools that will provide long term automated solutions in the learning function
  • Catalogue existing active content and backlog of work for prioritization and execution
  • Examine errors, production rates, and coaching opportunities database to determine linkage to learning, learning gaps, and learning reinforcement needs vs. performance issues
  • Assist with data mining and data entry
  • Assist with project tracking and logistics for any of the SMDLS active projects
  • Assist with monthly reporting
  • Assist Sr. Learning Solutions Architect on a project to map all of our existing learning artifacts to roles and identify gaps
