Job Description

We're a team of specialists charged with managing the firm’s worldwide taxes.  We are responsible for tax compliance, financial reporting of taxes, tax planning, business advisory and management of taxing authority examinations.   Our work contributes directly to the firm’s success, and the division is ideal for creative and collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.

The primary mission of Tax is to ensure the firm's compliance with the tax laws of the countries and local jurisdictions in which the firm conducts business, and to assist its businesses in managing tax risk. 

Key Tax functions include:

  • Providing tax information for the firm's financial statements; 
  • Preparing/supervising the preparation of U.S. federal, state, local and non-U.S. tax returns for the firm; 
  • Advising the firm's professionals on the tax implications related to the firm's businesses and/or transactions undertaken by or for the firm, including investment funds managed by the firm. 

THE ROLE

This is a full-time role for an assistant to provide onsite coverage to the London Tax team.  This role requires a highly collaborative, proactive and organised individual, who can multi-task effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactive diary management of complex calendars across multiple time zones 
  • Arrange internal meetings 
  • Provide support for divisional budgeting process
  • Manage invoice workflow 
  • Arrange travel; organize and provide detailed travel schedules and process related expenses in a timely manner 
  • General team admin including phone answering and relaying messages, photocopying/scanning/printing, participation in ad-hoc projects, and planning team events 
  • Act as an integral member of the team; maintaining a high level of awareness of current priorities and support required
  • On-board new hires and contingent workers

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Team player with a positive “can do” attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Proactive with excellent organisational and problem solving skills 
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment.  
  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and recognises the need for confidentiality  
  • Comfortable working with people at all levels across the organisation 
  • Ability to display a consistent, professional degree of communication 
  • 5+ years of experience.
