The Opportunity:

The Technical Litigation Support Specialist position is a great opportunity for someone to enhance their technical eDiscovery experience. This mid-level position allows candidates to follow eDiscovery best practices that focus on verifying client requests, quality checking database loads and deliverables while using applications like Relativity Processing, NUIX and copying and encryption software.

On the job training will be provided, this position is ideal for eDiscovery IT professionals looking to develop and improve their technical skills. You will be exposed to data in various forms and learn to manipulate large data sets as they progress through complex workflows. Opportunities to learn and develop scripting capabilities (PERL, Python, Windows PowerShell, etc.) will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs file manipulation, loading, conversion services, database indexing, and quality checks of loads.

  • Develops, evaluates, and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating data and/or files for use with COTS products and litigation support applications.

  • Responsible for ensuring that incoming productions are made pursuant to the applicable ESI specifications and when deficiencies are found, provides Senior Data Specialist with detailed notice of deficiencies.

  • Performs advanced tasks related to exporting data from contractor and DOJ databases including interpretation of requirements, identifying data for export, confirming redactions, other markups, and endorsements, ensuring that exports comply with applicable ESI specifications, and quality check of exported data.

  • Performs advanced tasks related to migrating data between DOJ databases including interpretation of requirements, identifying scope of data to be migrated, confirmation of correct mapping of source and destination fields, and quality check of migrated data.

    Qualifications:

    Required: 

  • Requires knowledge of litigation discovery process, and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) workflow.

  • Knowledge of Government’s IT environment, including office automation networks, PC and server-based applications preferred.

  • Working knowledge of personal computers, including Windows, document review software, and encryption methods.

  • Experience with LAW, IPRO, Relativity or other document processing platform. Familiarity with ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued.

  • At least two years’ experience performing eDiscovery roles including but not limited to electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, retrieval, and data analysis.

  • At least two years hands-on experience importing, producing, and exporting data from Relativity platform.

  • Must have or be able to obtain Relativity Review Management Specialist or RelativityOne Certified Pro certification within six months of start date.

    Desired:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred-preferably in computer science or related field.

  • Coursework in technical disciplines (programming/scripting, systems administration, and database management).

  • eDiscovery experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, similar to the duties and responsibilities described.

  • Ability to perform quality control analysis and report any issues with the data.

  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to perform tasks accurately and quickly.

  • Ability to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced environment.

  • Customer-focused, congenial, professional attitude for working on site with government clients.

  • Strong communication and comprehension skills and ability to interpret and comprehend instructions accurately.

  • Experience with MS office products with advanced knowledge of data manipulation using MS Excel.

    The proposed salary range for this position is:

    $39,500-$79,000
