Amount of Travel Required: >30%
Work Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday) overtime as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Turbine Operations Manager at Accelerated Mobile Power (AMP) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the turbine fleet, including turbine power, reciprocating power, and hybridization technologies. This role focuses on operational excellence, cost management, and team leadership, reporting directly to the Director of Operations and Asset Management.


The Turbine Operations Manager plays a key role in executing strategies that support company objectives, ensuring reliable and efficient operations. This position involves close collaboration with unit leadership and on-site teams to drive performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and enhance customer satisfaction. The role requires a strong understanding of industry practices, solid leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage operational logistics effectively to deliver cost-efficient, low-emission solutions to clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word 'may.')

  • Oversees and manages Turbine Supervisors and Turbine Operators, ensuring effective communication and operational consistency across locations.
  • Addresses and resolves personnel issues in collaboration with Regional Turbine Supervisors and Human Resources, fostering a supportive and efficient work environment.
  • Works closely with shared services to address operational issues related to turbine packages or fleet-wide concerns, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Provides regularly scheduled updates to the Director of Operations and Asset Management on the status of power generation equipment and personnel, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Assists in troubleshooting gas turbines and other related equipment as needed, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
  • Conducts pre-job and post-job analysis where applicable, ensuring continuous improvement in operational procedures.
  • Ensures that operators conduct work in accordance with safety processes, standard operating procedures, and site-specific policies, maintaining a culture of safety.
  • Provides essential training to personnel on turbine operation and troubleshooting, ensuring a knowledgeable and capable team.
  • Evaluates the operational readiness of turbines and related equipment, ensuring preparedness for deployment.
  • Drives the implementation of more efficient working tasks, driving continuous improvement in operational practices.
  • Implements the strategic vision for fleet deployment, including rig-up, rig-down, and mobilization processes, and ensures these operations are executed with precision, aligning with organizational objectives and client needs.
  • Manages the allocation and coordination of assets, personnel, and resources across multiple locations, optimizing operational excellence and responsiveness to client demands.
  • Implements client engagement initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to understand and anticipate operational requirements, and deliver tailored, high-impact solutions to enhance client satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Champions initiatives that drive continuous improvement, focusing on reducing costs, improving efficiency, and integrating innovative practices to position AMP as a leader in operational excellence.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing team of power generation professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement, and aligning the team with AMP’s strategic objectives.
  • Oversees the identification and mitigation of operational risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, and develops and enforces a robust risk management framework.
  • Identifies and spearheads key strategic initiatives that support AMP's growth and operational efficiency to further enhances AMP’s competitive positioning in the market.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure successful operations and business continuity.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully passes background check, pre-employment drug screening, and any pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Valid U.S Driver’s License
  • Ability to Travel
  • Daily in-person, predictable attendance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of previous Power Generation experience.
  • Knowledge of Turbine operations in an Isochronous application.
  • Knowledge of Power Generation Equipment Operations.
  • Previous supervisory experience.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training,
  • including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and successfully completes annual safety and operations recertification training.
  • Able to communicate in a technical manner around clients.
  • Ability to successfully work within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company-mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn and navigate company platforms.
  • Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Noise Level: Moderate to high noise levels due to machinery and power generation activities.
Social Interaction: Interaction with site personnel, adherence to safety protocols is crucial.

Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
