Turbine Operations Supervisor

Department: Power Generation Field Ops

Job Status: Full Time

FLSA Status: Salary Non-Exempt

Reports To: Area Power Generation Manager

Location: Regional Office and wellsite - West/ South Texas

Amount of Travel Required: 50% to 100%

Work Schedule: Rotational – 2&2 (2 Weeks ON/ 2 Weeks OFF)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Turbine Operations Supervisor will lead multiple crews’ worth of assets and personnel. They are responsible for the execution of flawless turbine operation, service quality, and asset integrity for their given crews and assets. They will work very closely with the Operations Fleet Manager and Turbine Regional Manager to plan, organize, and execute.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word 'May.') 

  • Lead Turbine Operators within their assigned fleets.
  • Strategize with other divisions including engineering, operations, to ensure alignment and efficient execution.
  • Work with Service Quality and Engineering teams to address, but more importantly prevent specific Turbine package or related operational issues.
  • Provide daily updates to the Area Power Generation Manager on the status of Power Generation equipment and personnel.
  • Ensure trouble shooting on gas turbine and other equipment is done efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure all service quality tasks are completed timely and accurately.
  • Ensure teams conduct work in accordance with safety processes, standard operating procedures, and site-specific policies.
  • Ensure essential training and continued learning on gas turbine operation and troubleshooting is being offered to personnel within their crews.
  • Ensure operational readiness of gas turbines and related equipment.
  • Aid in implementation of more efficient working tasks.
  • Perform essential reviews of new processes, procedures, and equipment as applicable to Turbine Operations.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully passes background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Possesses a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • In-person, predictable attendance, overtime is required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5-10 years of previous aeroderivative Power Generation experience.
  • Knowledge of turbine operations in an isochronous application a plus.
  • Knowledge of power generation equipment and operations.
  • 2+ of supervisory experience.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to attend, participate, and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including but not limited to H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR training.
  • Attends and successfully completes annual safety and operations recertification training.
  • Able to communicate in a technical and professional manner around clients.
  • Ability to successfully work within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with digital platforms including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company mandated systems. For new hires, ability to quickly learn and navigate company platforms.
  • Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
  • Efficient at Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook).

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADVANCEMENT: (Promotions may occur only after the following qualifications have been satisfied. Promotions are not guaranteed and are subject to availability of position openings.)

  • Time in Position: Minimum 18-24 months.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and or exceed in performance goals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. Work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and impact gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. They may be required to lift heavy objects; therefore, they must be able to lift <50 lbs. independently and 50-100 lbs. with a team lift.

Work hours may include early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on job demands.
